Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) Hi Kit. Glad you found the group and hoping you'll find some great new books to read. Feel free to nominate some of your favorites or some on your to-read shelf for our monthly book club books; you're obviously well read and might have some great suggestions.

Hi, I'm Thea. I'm from the Phiippines and I just turned 14 last week. We're a little behind on YA books here in Pinas so I'm not as familiar with the books you're reading and books are expensive and a litte hard to find on a student's allowance plus, I don't go online that often but I'll try to keep up.

Ashley Poston (ashposton) Hi everyone! I'm Ashley and I come from a small town in South Carolina. I'm an aspiring writer, and maybe someday you'll see something of mine on YA shelves, who knows?

But here's the catch... I write the knee-buckling chick-lit that makes you blush. Oh yeah. ;)

message 863: by Ciara (new)

Ciara | 2 comments Hello. My name is Ciara-Ariel. I am thirteen years old from NJ. :-(
I never liked reading, but my mom grounded me because my grades were terrible. She took away my tv so all I had to do for entertainment was read so I picked up the only book I had. Twilight. I liked it and read the series and expanded my horizons to other series and now I'm a straight A student on the National Junior Honor Society. I thanked my mom for grounding me and introducing me to the world of reading. I also plan to bbecome a lawyer and write YA novels one day.

Sarah | 2 comments Lisa wrote: "Welcome, Sarah. I had no idea Masters in Publishing degrees were offered. Very interesting."

Thanks! I believe there are only a couple of programs (maybe 3) in the country and there's one in Canada that's similar. It's a really awesome program; we take classes about editing, book design, etc. and then the grad students run a functioning publishing company that allows us to put what we learn into action and produce actual books.

message 892: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) Sarah, What fun and that's fascinating. I hope you get a great job when you've finished your program.

Amanda (writers_soul) Hello everyone,
I just joined this group today and so far I love it. I am a total Bookworm, I read and read and read. I own over 1,000 books. I am a young adult who loves all kinds of books (adult, young adult, horror, mystery, historical fiction, thriller, syclogical thriller etc.) I really love Horror and historical fiction or anything to do with the paranormal. I am also a writer. I write like crazy and I also love to sing and be myself:)

message 898: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) Welcome, Amanda. I hope you continue to enjoy our group. The books chosen and the discussions are usually great.

message 899: by Felicia (new)

Felicia Maisey Hello. I am new here too. I am interested in meeting people and in learning which books resonate with friends. To that end, I take my friendships seriously, and as a wife, mother, grandmother, employee and full time student, I find that I really enjoy people who like to read. I admire the fact that people like to read and carve out time for it, which has been difficult for me to do, given my schedule. However, I hope to be inspired to make more time for non school-related reading : 0 )
