historical romance either Highlander or Regency setting (maybe little bit both). Was part of a series. Can't remember if middle or end of series. h is sister/cousin to the guys in previous books. She's been kidnapped by guy that has scar on face and uses cane and in previous books you think he's bad guy. I'm pretty sure he wanted to get back at her brothers but then plans to leave her at his countryside manner. There's scene I remember where she's on a dock and slips into pond, he has some fear or something of pond but overcomes it to save her because her dress makes her too heavy to swim or something.
