I heard good things about this trilogy so watched the movie to see if it would peak my interest. Bad idea, it's one of those works that you want to discover slowly, it will take me a while to even remotely forget the ending. I wonder how the book is...

Kandice I didn't enjoy the book at all. I started out thinking I would love it, but the first time the grievers (sp?) were described they just sounded so silly it pulled me out of the story.

I saw the movie on a sneak peek and actually liked it more than the book, but it wasn't great.

Hmm I wonder how the author managed to make them look silly in the book, those monsters looked pretty scary in the movie! I kind of had flashbacks of 'Alien' at some point.

Kandice They were described as part mechanical, part organic, and it somehow just sounded unbelievable. One of the improvements the film made was they way they looked on screen.

Yes, some things are definitely hard to picture. I think the guys who made the movie did a good job though, they did look that way, part mechanical and part organic. And ugly as hell.
