Jason Oliver | 3046 comments I love to read Harlan Coben mysteries. He is a great story teller, weaving a story of suspense and mystery. His book just keep me turning pages and I don't have to do any self reflection or meditating on deeper things. I just read the story.

This is my favorite of his to date. Normally I rate his 3 or 4 stars, but the ending to this one is more original. I love trying to solve the mysteries before hand, and most of the time with Coben, I can only guess a piece of the mystery but am not able to piece it all together. This book didn't fail in that regard either.

Great fast read.

LibraryCin | 11684 comments So, now I had to go looking for your review, as well! I have also read this one, but I read so many and I get them mixed up in my head! I also tend to mix up some of Coben's books with Linwood Barclay's. They are very similar - have you read anything by Barclay?

Found my review. I actually didn't rate this one as high as some of the others I've read by Coben! My favourites remain The Woods (the first I read by him) and Gone for Good.

I remember the gist of this one, but also don't recall the ending. :-) I could probably reread all of his (and Barclay's) and the endings would still all be surprises, as I tend to forget so easily!

Jason Oliver | 3046 comments I liked The Woods, 4 Star. I didn't give the fifth star because I happened to guess the ending. I think it was the second book when I started to read Harlan Coben again. The first was The Stranger. I read Gone for Good back when I was a mid teenager. I don't remember the story well anymore. Even reading the blub on Wikipedia only sounds familiar but does not jog any memories. But I remember the cover sitting on my bookshelf for years until I moved out and gave the book to my little brother.

I have not read Barclay.

The ending to this book (view spoiler)

LibraryCin | 11684 comments Ah, thank you for the reminder (as well)!

I have not yet read "The Stranger", but it's on the tbr.

If you wanted to try Barclay, my favourite remains the first I read by him: No Time for Goodbye

Jason Oliver | 3046 comments Update: I just changed my rating to 4 stars. The more I thought about this books, it is just a fun read. I will save my 5 stars for more in depth pieces. However, I love this story. Great mystery.
