Kirsten | 7 comments hey, I was wondering how many people prefer going to the library to hire books or just buying them?
I own a few books and would prefer to buy my own but I just cant afford to buy all those books so I get them from the library :)

jing | aperipateticbibliophile (caelysium) Well, I mostly buy books, but sometimes I go to the library if I currently don't want any, or to check out other books I may want. Or just to read, because that's what you go to the library for (≧∇≦)

Adam Buongiovanni (adambongo) | 1 comments I've recently started to seriously get into reading, and as of now I like having the copies of the books I read. I just want to continue building up a library in my house

Jacquie Marques (jacquie_fortin) I've been trying to get books from the library more often recently. That way if I don't like the book I wanted to read, no harm done, and if I do like it then I can buy it for my personal library later.

Felicia MacCay (thefandomhunter) | 6 comments I borrow from the library, mainly because I have too many books that I want to read and too little money. If I like it, then I'll put it on my Amazon wish list and either buy it later or wait for someone else to buy it for me. I don't like buying something if I don't know if I'm going to like it, but if I know I'm going to like it, I'll buy it right away. (For instance, new releases that I'm really anticipating).

Sarah (sarahreadssometimes) The majority of books that I read come from the library. I like being able to borrow a boo that I'm not sure about. If I like it then I can buy it later for rereads and to build my personal library. Its also a lot cheaper :) when I do but books, though, I typically go to thrift stores because they are soooo cheap. I've found a lot of gems that way that are in really good condition :)

Lilia (liliasbooks) | 4 comments I often go to the library but I prefer having the books on my shelves.. even though I don't have the money xD

Jocelyn Gray Libraries are great because they are free and I don't have the money to buy books

Austin Webberly | 28 comments I'm half and half. I'll buy my books but since I work in a library I get them there too

Aerika (vwbuggirlreads) I'd rather get it from the library, if they have it. I try not to amass a huge collection at home. If it's not at the library, I'll try paperbackswap or an ebook before I buy a hard copy. The ebook has to be significantly cheaper though. Not buying an ebook when the hard copy is almost the same price.

Isa (chasingskies) I rarely borrow books from the library, when I was younger my library had a very limited section of middle grade/young adult books, the books they had were of very little interest to me so for years I had this notion that my libraries remained the same.

Its only a few months ago I visited a small library and was pleasantly surprised by all the familiar authors and how much books that were on my wishlist were available. The libraries in my country can nowhere reach the selection available in other countries but I'm pretty satisfied with its growth over the years. I think I'd definitely be borrowing books once I get my TBR down a little, especially since I'd soon no longer have access to shopping for books online.
