When you have a team name, just let me know and I'll update this thread name :)
First stop - Tromso, in Norway

Your first stop is Tromso, Norway.
You can choose as a team to:
TASK
- Read books set in Norway, or by Norwegian authors or
- Do a spell-it-out of "Tromso" or "Norway".
OR
You can elect to do the detour, which for this stop, means that four of you need to "Read a book with a photographed cover".
===========
This is mostly self-directed, so whatever you guys as a team think fits the tasks will be fine.
However, if you do have questions or are unsure about something, please do not hesitate to contact the Travel Agent.

Hey guys. I’m Ambi from Texas, United States. This summer I have been so addicted to GR ( I think I browsed more books than I read) :D Now that school’s starting I need to hold myself back. But I’m so excited to be here!

So task 1, spell it out or detour?

So task 1, spell it out or detour?"
I’m glad you’re feeling much better. I can’t imagine what it’s like since I haven’t gone through it, yet. But i think it’s important to look after yourself as much as you take care of your baby. I know it’s easier said than done but You’re gonna be an amazing mom! :D

So task 1, spell it out ..."
It was hard because he was a premmie and I had high blood pressure so I was on bed rest... Lot's of stuff but luckily we're alright now. He just started walking and he's a peril but it's an awesome phase as well.
Can we use books from lava here? Or the books should be exclusively for this?

Oh dear! I'm glad you're on the mend :)

Here's a few ideas:

Hello fellow Lava member!!

Hi! Hoping maybe some of my books will be able to work for both challenges!

So task..."
Yeah all challenges are individual so you can use the same books for every challenge if it fits the task.

I really hope we do the spell it out because I don't have any Norwegian books at the moment. I was just wondering if in that case two of the people don't count their books?
I haven't checked in the Q & A yet, but I'm assuming we can start books but not finish before each round, correct? In that case we'd use the 2 people that didn't get theirs books in for the next round. It could be a faster way to go about this as well. :)

I really hope we do the spell it out because I do..."
I’m okay if we start with a spell it out (start with an easy task before tackling the more challenging ones!). How should we choose the 1st round readers - volunteer or pick randomly? :)

Also shall I PM our team name to the travel agent, if you guys have decided yet?

I have to check mine later"
Really? Not just finished after the thread started? In that case then only 1 of mine counts (the T one).

Keeping our task assignments in check. ;D

SPELL-IT-OUT RULES
Spell out the word(s) using the first letter in the book's title, the first letter in the author's first or last name, or the first letter of a character's first, last, or nick-name, or the first letter of the series name.
As always, if the first letter of a title starts with an indefinite or definite article ('A', 'An', 'The', etc.), you may use the first letter of the second word in the title to spell out your chosen word.
If the first letter of a title is a numerical digit, then you use the first letter of that digit for your spell out (i.e. 1984 is N; 2046 is T; 1Q84 is O)
If you are listening to an audiobook, the first letter in the narrator's first or last name also can be used.
We're also allowing for Translators names, as long as the edition you are reading is a translation version.

Nope, it says so on rules

I got this from the Rules section:
❶ Spell-It-Out: These challenges spell out a word. Then for each letter read books with titles, series names, authors (first or last names) that begin with letters that correspond to the word you choose. Some challenges allow you to use characters (first or last names), too. You may ignore the indefinite and definite articles (a, an, the, etc.)

Also, from what I can tell from reading other threads, if the word is too short for all of us to have a letter, the other team members can read any book. We get bonus points if everyone reads a book at each stop, but not everyone actually has to as long as the task is completed. From the rules:
TASKS
◈ Completing a task will earn the team 10 points AND
◈ If at least 6 members of the team read a book that contributes to the tasks, that is an additional 15 points AND
◈ If ALL team members read a book for the time you are at the stop, that is an additional 10 points

I'll take M ^_^ - got a perfect book for it

Ooh do you guys wanna get competitive and everyone read a book at this stop?
