Mystery/Action/Thriller - starts w/terrorists going into elementary school, putting it on lockdown, ransoming victims

I can't remember the title of this book or the authors name, although I think his first name might be Michael. The book starts at an elementary school where terrorists(or so I remember them being) come into the school and take it over, lock it down and hold the teachers and children inside for some type of ransom. Then a special agent who has been raised basically to be a weapon himself is the guy who eventually infiltrates them etc....without giving away the whole story. Anyway, it was really violent in parts and lots of vulgarity. That's all I can really remember. Oh and it was probably written in the 2000's would be my guess.
