SOLVED. Fantasy about Goblin disguised as Queen. [s]

A knight goes on a quest to save the king from a pretend queen. A goblin killed the real queen and is trying to find a way to kill the king. The goblin shapeshifted to take the queen's shape. She lures the king to bed and to eat poison but the knight stops her each time. This knight tells the king but no one believes him!
I read this book for school and now I can't remember what it is.

I read this book in 2000 but it was a school assignment so the book must have been written in the 90's or earlier to be on the reading list.
