Turhan Halil | 270 comments Pretty kool Sue "Follow the clown"
gotta luv that!

No! Don't delete, we have to push onward!

That being said, is anyone else now reminded of the end of Breakfast of Champions?

(Side note: Google predictive text suggested Breakfast of Champagne. I'm down with that.)

message 53: by Sue (new)

Sue Perry | 175 comments Hmm, maybe. Read BofChamp so long ago, only remember that I read it. Just consulted Wikipedia plot synopsis. If my subconscious is going to crib ideas from other books it would be nice to know when it happens.

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) | 1213 comments Mod
I'm always paranoid of that! Well for me it's more cribbing from popular culture that everyone but me is aware of.
But not to worry, I was just referring to the character becoming self aware.

message 55: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Lyles (gobbledygook) | 380 comments I really hope your still on Hákon. My question was... crap I've forgotten. It was definitely something about the Baroness.

Time zones are annoying.

message 57: by Sue (new)

Sue Perry | 175 comments But if we all lived in the same time zone it would be very very crowded.

message 58: by Hákon (new)

Hákon Gunnarsson | 283 comments Breakfast of Champagne, now that must have been about a different Kilgore Trout. :-)

message 59: by Christina (new)

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) | 1213 comments Mod
Kilgore Trout may be a difficult name to say after a breakfast of champagne.

Sue wrote: "But if we all lived in the same time zone it would be very very crowded."

Nah, we just need to do as China does and have one discombobulating time zone.

message 61: by Hákon (new)

Hákon Gunnarsson | 283 comments I was wondering if this was a good place to start the next chapter?

Turhan Halil | 270 comments Hákon wrote: "I was wondering if this was a good place to start the next chapter?"

Hey, I think it's as good a place as any :)

Have at it dude!

message 63: by Sue (new)

Sue Perry | 175 comments Ha! I love it that Luka is trying to keep an author away from the tools of authoring!

message 64: by Christina (new)

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) | 1213 comments Mod
Congratulations, Richard. Your experimenting has paid off and you have perfected the ability to deliver a rap on the knuckles with a ruler via internet. ;)

message 65: by Sue (last edited Sep 27, 2014 04:16PM) (new)

Sue Perry | 175 comments For future reference, I would like to be the brooding monster next time.

By the way, Christina, this is as (in)appropriate a time as any to say that I so love your GR profile picture - always makes me think I have happened upon a hitherto unknown Ramone.

message 66: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Lyles (gobbledygook) | 380 comments Just so everyone knows I wasn't watching the Wizard of Oz when I posted that. I was actually watching Cowboys and Aliens.

message 67: by Christina (new)

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) | 1213 comments Mod
LOL! My husband calls this my Joey Ramone pic. I'll take the compliment! :)

No way Sue...I will NOT give up brooding monster status :)

Perhaps we can form an alliance?

message 70: by Hákon (new)

Hákon Gunnarsson | 283 comments I don't know what anyone from outside this group that read this story would think about it, but I'm having so much fun with it even if the narrator calls me occasionally a malignant spirit. :-D

message 71: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Lyles (gobbledygook) | 380 comments Hákon you're not alone. I think this other detective is the same detective the Baroness hired before Luka. And who wants to bet these hallucinations have something to do with whatever happened to him.

message 72: by Hákon (last edited Sep 30, 2014 02:24PM) (new)

Hákon Gunnarsson | 283 comments I think he could be, but I suppose that is up to the next writer. :-)

message 73: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Lyles (gobbledygook) | 380 comments Yeah, you're right about that. I guess I'm just kind of hoping it goes that way.

message 74: by Hákon (new)

Hákon Gunnarsson | 283 comments I'm kind of hoping that too, but it will be fun to see what twist this story will take next.

message 75: by Christina (new)

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) | 1213 comments Mod
I can't wait to read it, but I have to bow out of writing because my brain is broken at the moment.

message 76: by Amanda (last edited Sep 30, 2014 03:08PM) (new)

Amanda Lyles (gobbledygook) | 380 comments Do something mundane like gardening. I find that always helps me.

message 77: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Lyles (gobbledygook) | 380 comments If you want. I wasn't trying to make that sound like a command.

message 78: by Christina (new)

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) | 1213 comments Mod
LOL! If my houseplants are any indication, I should not try gardening. (RIP Christmas cactus)
It's more that I've got too much going on at once. I usually read or paint when I'm working through something. I think reading and copious amounts of coffee are on the agenda tonight. :)

Very devious...hmm, but what's in it for me? After all, you're just an "evil spirit" whereas I'm a "brooding monster" Maybe, just maybe, I'd consider an alliance if you'd consider (view spoiler) those "angelic entities" Amanda & Richard, then I could write the story the way it should be written...with me as the Hero! ahahahahahahah!!!!!

message 81: by Sue (new)

Sue Perry | 175 comments Turhan wrote: "Sue wrote: "Turhan wrote: "Sue wrote: "For future reference, I would like to be the brooding monster next time.

Methinks the entities are not quite so angelic as to avoid reading the spoiler... But sure, I'd be up for that. Keeping in mind that the next author just goes in and untwists/obliterates the plot twists of the last, anyway.

However, I will not grovel for an alliance. Evil spirits must maintain their self-respect.

message 82: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Lyles (gobbledygook) | 380 comments Thanks Christina.

Turhan I can totally see that spoiler. I think that will make it hard for you to imprison me. Now I'll be on the lookout.

message 83: by Turhan (new)

Turhan Halil | 270 comments Looks like it's me and you Richard :)

Yep, real authors keep going through hell and high water, writer's block, income tax, hallucinations...

message 85: by Christina (new)

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) | 1213 comments Mod
Hey, I'm real! I think. I might be a hallucinogen... Um, halogen.... Hooligan....

message 86: by Sue (new)

Sue Perry | 175 comments christina you are most likely an LED not a halogen.

all I am traveling this week and so please save some plot holes for me.

message 87: by Christina (new)

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) | 1213 comments Mod
Dim, but good for the environment? ;)

message 88: by Sue (new)

Sue Perry | 175 comments Actually LEDs have a remarkable intensity. Call them subtly brilliant. While halogens are overheated fire hazards (sounds more like chick lit to me).

Turhan Halil | 270 comments Sue wrote: "christina you are most likely an LED not a halogen.

Awesome! You can have all the zany plot holes you can handle...

message 90: by Christina (new)

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) | 1213 comments Mod
This dame was an overheated fire hazard and someone musta took the batteries outta my smoke detector.
Okay, I'll leave the detective fiction to the experts.

Hákon Gunnarsson | 283 comments Christina wrote: "This dame was an overheated fire hazard and someone musta took the batteries outta my smoke detector.

That's good one. :-D

message 92: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Lyles (gobbledygook) | 380 comments I keep my smoke detector on my bookshelf. I definitely want to know when there's a fire so I can save all the books.

K, I'm ready for another fix of "It was a (fairly) dark n storm.... where are you Sue? there are a lot of plot holes to fill in :)

message 95: by Hákon (new)

Hákon Gunnarsson | 283 comments Luka is in quite a sticky situation there. :-)

message 96: by Turhan (new)

Turhan Halil | 270 comments Hákon wrote: "Luka is in quite a sticky situation there. :-)"

Yes! But I like anything lime, so I'm living vicariously through his stickiness :)

message 97: by Christina (new)

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) | 1213 comments Mod
Ya know, jello might make a decent substance to fill a bed. Like a sleep number, but more squishy.

message 98: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Lyles (gobbledygook) | 380 comments That's what I was thinking when I wrote it. I said to myself 'What strange thing do you think would be fun to sleep on?' Although I believe coffee Jell-O is much stranger than waking up on a bed of lime Jell-O.

message 99: by Hákon (new)

Hákon Gunnarsson | 283 comments I hope I didn't mess up the story with that last bit I added.
