Sebastian and the Troll, by Frederik Backman - 5 stars

I really loved this very special story, led to it by a link from Jason. Frederick Backman has a very special talent for writing. He wraps you into everything he does. He is a five star favorite for me.

This is a short but powerful story. Its about a child struggling with depression. But its also about trolls, and glass bubbles, and fears that encase you. Ultimately its about hope. Its written magically, but powerfully accurate. I loved its depiction of the struggle for hope. What it takes to crack the glass, let the light in, and start to believe in the self's right to fight for its mattering. It has aspects of other Backman favorites in it for sure. Great short story.
