Maria (maria-green) Hello, dear goodreaders!
I came here for help to identify The Hobbit edition I have.

I searched the internet by ISBN (Goodreads too), also checked few Tolkien fan sites where they track all of the books and all of the editions with photos of covers, yet, can't find it anywhere... Starting to think that maybe it's some kind of "illegal edition' or something? :-(

Book itself has only ISBN (5-88230-013-4), black and white illustrations (by the author) and the size is between A5 and A6.
No year published, publisher or something else, that could help.

Not sure I can paste photos here with HTML since dropbox shares not direct links to the files uploaded but links to the page, I swear I'm not spam or anything. :D

Really hope this mystery will be solved one day, huh! Thank you anyway whoever will come across.

The only place I can find anything enlightening about it is on World Cat, based on the calculated ISBN-13: 9785882300134.

You'll see from the entry there that it's a bit of a mystery as to who it was published by, but that it matches a particular edition by Unwin, so your speculation that it's a bit dodgy might be right.

Maria (maria-green) Oh, thank you so much!

ISBN match 100%! (Weird Google didn't find anything)
Also, the number of pages and the size in sm matches too!

And it says, that it's a 'Russian pirate edition'... Probably not the best way to start my LOTR journey. (Ouch)

Thank you for your help!

You're welcome - nothing worse than an itch you can't scratch 😄
