Cecily | 33 comments Hi, I know you're all volunteers (thanks!), but I made a request 10 days ago (this one: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...), and there's been no response at all: not added, not rejected.

I'm pretty sure I posted to meet the criteria, and I've requested a couple of other books to be added in the past, without problem. I certainly don't expect an instant response, but this seems to have been forgotten, and I don't know why.

Thanks.

Scott | 9022 comments New requests are coming in constantly and it's easy for a post to be missed as it gets pushed down the page. If it's been a while you can bump your post back up simply by making a new response.

I've added it Cecily - picture to come later :)

but you know anyone can add a book to GR

Cecily | 33 comments Thanks, Jan-Maat. I hadn't realised that. I wonder why this thread exists? I also wonder if anyone can delete or merge books? If so, that might explain a handful of my missing reviews.

Emily | 17605 comments Only a small number of people can delete books from the database outright. If you see that a book has disappeared you can ask about it in this group, and we can try to see why it might not be in the database.

Good to know. Most of the few I've lost have been short stories that were listed individually, but also published in collections, and the standalone was deleted or merged. I have backups, but the discussion in the comments are gone forever.

Scott | 9022 comments If short stories are merged with books, it is because they were never published separately.

That's what should be the case, but it's not always. And, especially with shorts, the definition of "published" is blurry these days.
