Oof, this section was a lot.

Did anyone else think Lilith Awakening 40+ people was too many? Personally, I had a hard time keeping up with the humans given names, and I hardly have any attachment to them.

Speaking of the humans with names, how extreme was that one woman who attacked Lilith simply because there was no meat? Everyone else seemed to be handling that well - I guess they view any recognizable food to be better than what they previously had - but this one woman really felt compelled to resort to violence...all because there was no meat?

I'm also struggling with the oankali/ooloi and their respect for life. I think it's great that they refuse meat and other animal products and will not provide it to the humans. It shows a deep understanding and value of life. But at the same time, they don't seem to truly extend that same courtesy to the humans. For example, Joseph clearly kept saying no to Nikanj, who I really liked in Part II, yet Nikanj won't really take no for an answer. Instead, it says things like "Your body said one thing. Your words said another" and "Be grateful, Joe. I'm not going to let go of you." It was such a disturbing moment to me.

I'm interested to see if the humans make it to Earth in the next part and how they continue to respond to the ooloi.
