How would YOU rate this book?

One Goodreads member described this book as a 3 star book that has 4 star appeal. In other words,it may not technically be the best book but it is highly enjoyable to read.

What do you think of this comment? Do you agree? What rating do you think the book deserves?

I think that's a really appropriate thing to say - I really enjoyed The Rosie Project and it was a fast read (which is great because I have a huge TBR list!) but I found that it had a bit of a sickly-sweet aftertaste that I get after seeing a particularly adorable Hollywood movie that didn't ever really touch on the realities of particularly tough parts of life. A forty year old man with Aspergers who has had the same routines for many years probably wouldn't have given up on those routines quite as easily as Don did. It wouldn't have been easy, even if it had been for love. My enjoyment of this novel was a complicated one because of that - the lightening of Aspergers was both great to see in a world that only speaks of it as a tragedy, but the novel also probably portrayed in a more rose-coloured-glasses light than what would be realistic.

I think that statement is probably right on. It was a fun book to read and we all enjoy that from time to time, but I would get very bored if I read books like this all the time. Even by the end of this book, I was starting to feel like I had had enough. I'm still happy that I read Rosie Project. It was very entertaining.
