message 801: by Lexie (new)

Lexie I'm thinking Aedion will probably die, but hopefully not before he is reunited with Aelin! I think Dorian will live throughout the story, honestly he is the character I least expect to get killed (not bc he's my favourite but bc of the story) he needs to become king and fix the empire of Adarlan. I think Chaol is a possibility for a death too but I don't really want him to die either.
Haha I agree there needs to be a scene where Chaol and Rowan meet. Rowan with Aelin and that Chaol shows up and is like: "Who is this?" Dorian and Rowan need to meet too. It'd be pretty cool if Rowan and Dorian had a bit of a showdown while Dorian is under the control of the collar and Rowan battles him to protect Aelin or something.
I like the theory that Aelin knowing that Dorian is in mortal danger makes her realise that she loves him. We'll see I suppose, gah so much suspense!

Lydia (greciandaisy) | 174 comments Just imagining Rowan meeting Chaol makes my heart skip a beat. I hate Jealousy but goodness gracious that would be an AMAZING scene! And it could force Chaol into action toward Celaena/Aelin(Protectively/Romanticaally)and to realize what he wants. Amongst all the crazy plot twists and other things of course. lol

message 803: by Hannah Mae (new)

Hannah Mae | 233 comments Haha, those would be great scenes.

I too don't think Dorian will die, but Sarah could just do anything really. But for sure a scene with rowan and Chaol and or Dorian would be awesome!

Also, I think there would be quite a few POV for Dorian, because he is aware that he's not in control. The chapters we read were very emotional but also important. So I'm sure we'll see quite a few POV from him. Especially when he sees his friends, those scenes would be quite the read.

message 804: by Lexie (new)

Lexie I agree I think there'll be a fair few scenes in Dorian's POV, at least until he's under full control of the Valg prince. You can see in the first chapter of QoS he's trying to fight it or it at least hasn't gained full control of him yet. There's a quote "The creature, whatever it was kept pacing along the invisible wall trying to get through. But the wall that held it at bay was getting weaker every day." Or something like that.

My theory is that the Valg prince's control/possession of Dorian will not be quite as strong as say the one on Narrok and there will be another way to free him besides beheading or burning. Perhaps trying to make Dorian remember who he really is and getting him to fight it with his magic, with the help of Aelin and perhaps Rowan. Either way Dorian has to live!

message 805: by Hannah Mae (new)

Hannah Mae | 233 comments Yes!! Was just clarifying that on another discussion heh. He WILL be king!

message 806: by Lexie (new)

Lexie I saw that haha. Yes Dorian will be the best king! Like you said I hope the wyrdkey will be able to free Dorian somehow. But knowing Arobynn he's gonna want something in return for it (if he has it) no doubt.
A possible idea: Arobynn tells Aelin he needs Dorian to be brought to him and that sparks a whole rescue/kidnapping mission for Aedion and Dorian. I'm sure someone said this before in fact.

message 807: by Hannah Mae (new)

Hannah Mae | 233 comments Haha! Yes, yes he would.

Oh, for sure. Aelin even knows it, I believe it was mentioned in the QoS Chapter sampler. I do remember that as well, Arobynn will always try to get something in return for his help and or favours. Really can't wait for Aelin to kick his arse.

message 808: by Jess (new)

Jess Munnery (jmunners) | 46 comments I don't think we have to write Dorian off as a romantic possibility. I don't think it'll happen anyway :( but it's not impossible. I've not read QoG (wish I could) but if Celaena ended up with Dorian in that version, he obviously holds a special place in Mass' heart.
As a writer making that decision and then trying to change it is one hell of a task. Which is why I understand her always saying she's letting Aelin choose.

message 809: by Lexie (new)

Lexie I totally agree with you Jess.

message 810: by Hannah Mae (new)

Hannah Mae | 233 comments Same, I haven't read QoG either but that is a very good point. Maas adores her characters a lot, it was even hard for her to kill off Nehemiah. If QoG had a whole different romantic perspective, then for sure we won't be disappointed with the end results in this love triangle or square relationship, heh

message 812: by Hannah Mae (new)

Hannah Mae | 233 comments Haha! That is very much possible.

Ha-ha people will freak out at the end of book 6!!!

message 815: by Rachina (new)

Rachina | 14 comments Should I be worried that the Kirkus review doesn't mention Rowan except to say he was left behind? Or do you think this means all scenes from his POV will all be from Wendlyn - far far away from Aelin *sniffle*?

message 816: by Anna (new)

Anna | 142 comments I just read that review. Looks like chaol and aeilen will be butting heads the entire time. Also looks like she thinks there is no hope for Dorian.

Anna you can share the link of the review please, I need read it.

message 819: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Yeah same.

message 820: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Thanks Anna!

message 821: by Alexis (new)

Alexis (TigeroftheTowerGuard) | 356 comments Read the review, kinda spoils the plot but nothing surprising.

Fatima Havilliard (heirofashandfire) | 92 comments Thanks for the link Anna!!! I really want to read the book!!

message 823: by Noris (new)

Noris | 574 comments I hate the review! It forgets too much of the story!

message 824: by Ale (new)

Ale (bookishunicorn) If it gave too much of the story then when one reads the book it won't be surprising at all...

message 825: by priya (new)

priya (gpriyaa) I'm happy it doesn't give away too much, but at the same time I WANT TO KNOW SO BADLY IT HURTS.

message 826: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Yes September feels so long!!!

message 827: by Fatima (new)

Fatima Havilliard (heirofashandfire) | 92 comments There are only 35 days until QoS but it feels like an eternity!! September come now!!

HONEST WYRD! Can't wait to have this book and devour it!

message 829: by Alexis (new)

Alexis (TigeroftheTowerGuard) | 356 comments Yeah, I have three copies on preorder if you can believe it. Two hardbound (one signed) and one digital. I don't think I've ever been so hyped up about anything.

message 830: by Lexie (new)

Lexie @Alexis Oh wow, haha.

message 831: by Sierra (new)

Sierra Saikaley I am so excited for this book! I wish so bad that I could afford it but I can't so I'm gonna have to wait till my library gets it which will probably be six months after its released :(

message 832: by Anna (new)

Anna | 142 comments I'm intrigued as to what Aelin and chaol are so against each other about

message 833: by Lexie (new)

Lexie @Anna It's about Dorian. Chaol believes he can be saved but because Aelin has seen and faced the Valg princes she feels there's not that much of a chance.

message 834: by Anna (new)

Anna | 142 comments Yeah that's what I kinda got from the review as well. There may be more to thier not seeing eye to eye though

Alexis (TigeroftheTowerGuard) | 356 comments @Sierra Do you have a kinde device or app? I can loan you my copy soon as I'm through with it. Would just need your email address.

message 837: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Hey I just had a thought! In he sneak peek of QoS in the chapter where Aelin meets up with Arobynn he says he'll help her with saving Aedion in exchange for Aelin telling him information about the king controlling people with the demons and the Valg princes. And then he tells her to capture one (a person possessed by a Valg) and bring it to the Assassin's Keep. Anyone else thinking it might be Dorian who will be the target? Then they might be able to find out how to free him.

message 838: by Em (new)

Em Lexie, I am sure Arobynn wants Dorian and is manipulating both Chaol and Aelin to achieve this.

So basically these two idiots will fight the whole book because of Arobynn lol

message 839: by Alexis (new)

Alexis (TigeroftheTowerGuard) | 356 comments I seriously want to see Arobynn die in this book. Manipulative bastard

message 840: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Haha yes definitely Em. But that brings up another question; WHY does Arobynn want Dorian? And yes Arobynn needs to die! I hate him so much I tense whenever I'm reading a scene with him in it.

message 841: by Em (new)

Em I always thought Arobynn was either related to the king our involved in shady business with him. Therefore, controling Dorian could be an asset.

Rachina | 14 comments Lexie wrote: "Hey I just had a thought! In he sneak peek of QoS in the chapter where Aelin meets up with Arobynn he says he'll help her with saving Aedion in exchange for Aelin telling him information about the ..."

Dude, scary point! Good catch from the sneak peek. Ugh, Arobynn just gives me the creepy-crawlies. Ick. He met Aelin/Caelena when she was a kid but instead of being fatherly manages to be all....*shudders* Imagine if he got his hooks into Dorian.

message 843: by Hannah Mae (new)

Hannah Mae | 233 comments I saved up for this, heh. I need a copy of this book.

Yeah, that's what I got when I read the chapters. I too believe Arobynn has some sort of deal with the King, I believe we spoke of this in a different discussion or in this one a while back. The King and Arobynn are in it together somehow, especially now that the news of Aelin spread and Aedion's true intentions came out.

message 844: by priya (new)

priya (gpriyaa) Sierra: I feel for you so much. I hate waiting for books at the library because they always get the books SO LATE! I had to wait almost a month for HOF an in the process I accidentally on purpose found a copy online and kind of accidentally skimmed through it which accidentally spoiled the whole thing for me so I sort of really ruined it for myself when I got the book (urge library problems) but I know for sure I can get a copy of QOS so that's good, because otherwise I know for sure history will repeat itself.

message 845: by Fatima (new)

Fatima Havilliard (heirofashandfire) | 92 comments Sierra wrote: "I am so excited for this book! I wish so bad that I could afford it but I can't so I'm gonna have to wait till my library gets it which will probably be six months after its released :("

You are lucky, in my country are only available the first two books and apparently HoF will not come so I will read QoS in ebook.

message 846: by Sierra (new)

Sierra Saikaley Aw that sucks. It's thing like this that are the reason I prefer reading series that are already finished

message 847: by Hannah Mae (new)

Hannah Mae | 233 comments Money is the only reason why I wait until a series is finished before starting it. But I do enjoy the wait, heh. As much as it pains me, I quite enjoy it. Part of the journey of the series is the waiting and spamming the author with theories and questions. Looking for fellow fans and bond with them. A start of a new friendship, bonding with authors and feeling overjoyed when the book is published :D

message 848: by Ale (new)

Ale (bookishunicorn) Exactly, Hannah! It's so fun to interact with people while we are all waiting for the next book to come out. Yes, the wait is painful but you kind of forget it when you have tons of people who feel the same way you do and get to discuss with them :)

message 849: by Katrina♡•• (new)

Katrina♡•• | 65 comments I think something bad will happen to Dorian:-( I hope Celeana ad Chaol can save him but it may be unlikely because there are 2 more books in the series after the 4th.

message 850: by Lexie (new)

Lexie I wholeheartedly agree. (Though I will admit I do prefer reading a series that's all already finished.) But then again sometimes waiting can cause more anticipation and it's just all the more exciting when you finally get the book.
