It's a medieval setting, most everything is realistic (except for the immediately obvious rock golems, that can, in fact, communicate and do). There's no serious romance. It's more about grand political strokes and great men/women. It's fairly "sanitary," e.g. no whores, rape, or other such things, so it's more Tolkien than GoT in terms of spirit (not making a claim about relative quality). I've rewritten it once and done two edits, so the knit picky stuff should be minimized. It's got a map!
