Julie M (woolyjooly) | 315 comments I finished the novel by Nancy Peacock The Life and Times of Persimmon Wilson which was incredible. Tragic yet historically fascinating; really a love story told by a former slave about his quest to regain his life in post-Civil War years, leaving the Louisiana sugar cane fields and heading west to Texas.

I also finished Flight Behavior by the monumentally talented Barbara Kingsolver. If you can only listen to one audio book this season, I HIGHLY recommend this one, or anything read by the author in her soft, Kentucky accent. SO SO good--always astounded by attention to detail and characterizations.
