My understanding is that you do a rainbow of cover choices (which takes its inspiration from the Pride rainbow) and then those choices should also be own voices books, but are not limited to lgbtq+ books.

I thought the discussion said this was going to be limited to 10 prompts... although the rules don't say that. I am not if favor of having more than one multi-week prompt and picking one from 20 options seems like too many options.
I think how this is going to go is a work in progress in terms of voting. Which is understandable because I think so far in the years of voting we haven’t yet hit on the best way to handle multi-prompts. So my thoughts are that we will see how the parameters for voting shape up for this year and then we can see if those rules result in a process we like, which may be fine tuned for next year.

Two books of the same genre written more than 50 years apart
I'm a mystery lover, so I'd go with a classic by Agatha Christie and then maybe a recent release.
Or you could go with Lady Chatterly's Lover and follow up with modern smut. Or maybe go with a Zora Neale Hurston book and a Toni Morrison book. I think it could be a fun way to look at the way different genres have evolved.

Yes, I mean one book with an eastward journey and one with a westward journey (or north-south and south-north). Off the top of my head, that could be Around the World in Eighty Days (eastward) and The Map of Salt and Stars (westward).

Chinook wrote: "My understanding is that you do a rainbow of cover choices (which takes its inspiration from the Pride rainbow) and then those choices should also be own voices books, but are not limited to lgbtq+..."Correct. But the way it is worded there is so much emphasis on “pride” and “rainbow” that it seems to be exclusively about glbtq rather than all forms of diversity. Thus why I suggested rewording.
Four books related to the four food groups (fruit/vegetables, protein, dairy, and grains).I'm not that great at explaining, but one for fruit/vegetables could have an apple on the cover, grains could have bread as a topic, protein could have fish in the title, and dairy could have some cheese on the cover (as an example).
Is there a way that you would suggest re-wording it? Totally open to whatever because I did intend what Chinook clarified.
Updating the main topic now. Thanks Emily, you’re awesome, as always :)

Just trying to help (and find distraction from school starting next week!)
I would say to take out the “in celebration of PRIDE” if you’re looking to clear it up, but I don’t want to change your intentions of the prompt.

I modified it to this before reading your comment: To celebrate PRIDE, three “own voices” books, from any marginalized group, inspired by the colors of the rainbow
Is that better or would people prefer that it be: Three “own voices” books, inspired by the colors of the rainbow

I like that better than the original version, and you still have PRIDE connected to the rainbow in there. Plus, that would be a fun set of prompts to have in June next year.
Three books relating to the primary colours red, yellow and blue. For example, could be a word in the title, colour of the cover, mood or behaviour associated with that colour (anger, sadness, cowardice).

Four books related to a deck of cards. This can the suits, the numbers, the face cards, etc. It can be featured in the title, cover, synopsis, etc.
So many of these would be fun to research. This could easily be a reading challenge in & of itself. I think someone may have already mentioned that, but I’m seconding their opinion. 😉

Yea I think my rejects challenge will just be a bunch of multi-weeks next year. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do as my rejects, but this is it.
3 books linked by Past, Present, Future eg. different genres: Classic/Historical Fiction, Contemporary Fiction and SciFi
same genre: Romance: Historical Romance or a Classic, ChickLit, romantic SciFi/Fantasy
edit: if someone has better examples, please share them. :)
For Nadia’s suggestion (past, present, future), the way I would interpret is- Past: Set in a time previous to the publish date (at least a few decades); Present: contemporary WHEN it was written, and Future: set in the future. I wouldn’t include books that include more than one of these settings.
