Juvenile chapter book from the 80s or 90s about a weird family in the neighborhood

The way I remember is possibly a regular girl came across this family in a huge old house. There was something weird about the father but I can't remember the details. I know at least one girl wore roller skates or only roller skates all of the time and I am picturing her with red curly hair for some reason. It was a small paperback chapter book when I read it as a kid.
