Finally got to the library today. And I managed to pick up Bird Box and The Steel Remains. I'll try to at least one of them before the end of the month but probably not both. I also got The Burning Dark and Red Hill.

Finished Fool's Assassin. The first few chapters felt like coming home. Then things got weird... and weirder. It's a very slow book and had a pacing problem that probably could've been resolved with tighter editing. But the last few chapters more than made up for it.The only bad thing is the long wait for book 2...
I finally received the copy of The Girl with All the Gifts that I've had on reserve at the library for MONTHS. Everybody was reading this one so it took forever (and two different hold requests).I'm about 7-8 chapters in. So far I really like the writing but there's an ominous feeling that is making me a bit hesitant. I guess this is my other "scary" Oct read.
I finished Authority
- it wasn't nearly as good as the first book, but I will keep on reading and finish this trilogy. Now I started Nightmare At 20,000 Feet: Horror Stories By Richard Matheson
for October's read. The first story was really good! I'm also about to start Leviathan Wakes
.

So... I've started Interview with the Vampire. This was my favorite book way back when. Seriously. I read this like girls today read Twilight. I haven't read it in years. And I've been afraid to, sometimes it's best to leave the past in the past. But, there's a new book coming late October, so I figured what the hell.So far... Not bad... Not good. It's actually a little boring. And not really the kind of book I go for. I'm not really a fan of narrative type of stories. Oh, well. I'm going to try to read the first 3-4 books, but if I get too bored I probably won't.

So, with the new movie Dracula movie coming out (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0829150/) I decided to re-read Once Burned
.The romanticism in the movie previews really remind me of Once Burned so I think its a good choice - especially since I'm not going to see the movie (it looks sad).
And the guy on the cover of Once Burned kinda looks like the guy in the movie... Maybe Jeaniene Frost needs to talk to them, lol.
I'm totally gonna go see that Dracula movie. Well, maybe. I'm expecting the reviews to be terrible, but we'll see how terrible...

I'm supposed to go see The Equalizer tonight - depends on what the day holds.
I'm currently read - almost finished - Havoc, sequel/conclusion to Malice.I'm not liking it quite as much as the first, mostly because some of the creep factor is missing, but I think it's gonna be a decent conclusion.
I saw Stephen King on a few programs promoting the new movie A Good Marriage, based on a novella of the same name. It sounded like a neat premise, and the novella was just re-released today as a Kindle. So I picked it up. Couldn't put it down, until the battery died on my phone. Damn, the man can write!A Good Marriage
I heard Big Driver is being adapted for television? I'll have to try and catch it. You should catch some of the clips on YouTube. He was incredibly interesting on Seth Meyers. I think the other was Jimmy Fallon, maybe Kimmel? Love Kimmel!
He found the idea that the BTK killer, a man who was happily married with kids for more than 20 years, could keep his wife in the dark a fascinating premise. During the interviews, he says that it makes sense. There are doubtless things about himself and his wife that both still do not know about each other. Not homicidal things of course, but things none the less. And so the idea niggled and nagged at him until he began to put a story to paper. The opening chapter is amazing! Man, can he write a hook! You don't even realize he's sliding the barb in until its far too late to put the story down. A master!
I think I'm going to put down Revelation Space for a while (it's not really calling my name right now) and try Chris's B-day pick while I audio Tigana - which I'm enjoying. Then, it's Horrortober!
