I'm liking this book. The annoying bit is the change between characters, sometimes suddenly other times just by chapter. Find that a little hard to keep up. Also third person which is surprising.
Action packed from the beginning which is good, keeps you reading it. I get the feeling from what I have read that it is an action packed book.

Looking forward to reading more.
I’m so excited for this book. No idea if I brought with me on my vacation..but if I did - I’ll read that one next!

Chapter 5 - 10 thoughts
Chapter 5 was a bore, felt like it was just some kind a filler chapter. I personally didn't see the point in the chapter.
I really don't like Miyoungs mother and they way she acts, she is really irritating me.
The "relationship" more like friendship developing between Miyoung and Jihoon is interesting.

Chapter 10 - 26 thoughts
Feel like I have really lost the whole plot to this book but I am still reading.
The last few chapters I have liked. I feel like I understand Miyoung a lot more and the friendship is getting very developed.
But regardless I am a bit confused.

The last set of chapters really got to me. I finally understood where the plot was going, and that twist really got me. (Not going to leave a spoiler. It will actually ruin it)
Must say I am glad I stuck with it.
I am over the moon she is writing another one, that ending was good but it was annoying as hell and left it open to so many possibilities.

Finally feel like I’m getting into it. It was kind of slow for the first 70 pages. I think it’s weird for me reading all these words in romanized English. I’ve been learning Korean for almost 2 years and by now my brain rejects romanization, so I think that slowed me down at first. Definitely interested in the mythology and I want to know the characters more, but I’m waiting for it to really GRAB me. (It looks like you had this problem too Rebecca! glad to hear it gets better!)

I feel like the action started at the beginning and then it just totally dropped out and plot got lost. But it got better. It is worth reading it all :)

Eighteen-year-old Gu Miyoung has a secret--she's a gumiho, a nine-tailed fox who must devour the energy of men in order to survive. Because so few believe in the old tales anymore, and with so many evil men no one will miss, the modern city of Seoul is the perfect place to hide and hunt.
But after feeding one full moon, Miyoung crosses paths with Jihoon, a human boy, being attacked by a goblin deep in the forest. Against her better judgment, she violates the rules of survival to rescue the boy, losing her fox bead--her gumiho soul--in the process.
Jihoon knows Miyoung is more than just a beautiful girl--he saw her nine tails the night she saved his life. His grandmother used to tell him stories of the gumiho, of their power and the danger they pose to humans. He's drawn to her anyway.
With murderous forces lurking in the background, Miyoung and Jihoon develop a tenuous friendship that blossoms into something more. But when a young shaman tries to reunite Miyoung with her bead, the consequences are disastrous . . . forcing Miyoung to choose between her immortal life and Jihoon's.
