I don't know if I will finish this but tonight I started reading the most creepiest book that I own. The cover has interested me for years since I bought it from Borders back in 2011, shortly after I bought the book, I discovered words on the dust jacket cover actually GLOW IN THE DARK - freaked me out the first time I saw this. Since I moved into my new place in 2013, I have kept this book in the living room rather than my bedroom where most of my books are kept. It helps me sleep better at night not to have this book in my bedroom, but alas I have started reading the book tonight and it is by my bed. I will see if I can sleep. If the book is captivating enough perhaps I could finish by the end of the month - that would be something. I've been wanting to read this book for a long time and like The House of Leaves, no audiobook is available.
Here is the book cover if you dare:
The Dead Path by Stephen M. Irwin

The Dead Path by Stephen M. Irwin

you're welcome :D
thanks for the update!

definitely sounds creepy! (maybe you can cover the book with something to cover up the glow ;)

The second book I read was Star Wars A New Dawn!!! Its the first novel in the New Star Wars expanded universe and also the prequel to the show Rebels. It features a cover with a lot of orange on it. Its so far my favorite Star Wars novel. I can't wait to get the new book Tarkin... I ordered it. Star Wars YAY!!!!I'll probably be reading Tarkin for the Winter Challenge.

My next book I will be reading is The Hobbit... well this one is a reread. read it back in highschool... Loved it.... The problem is, its a fantasy novel and its by Tolkien... so I remembered it taking me forever to read. Ive only read 1/3 of the Lord of the RingsTrilogy, The Fellowship of the Ring... Once again fantasy and Tolkien... but loved it also. The Hobbit is a Door Stopper for me. Lets see if I can read it without putting it down once.

Thanks for the update, Josh!
Great to see you post-hope all is well :)
i've never read the hobbit- i really need to give it a try-hope you enjoy it.

Christine-What page are you on?

All is well. Hope everyone is doing well!
The Hobbit is a great book. I recommend it. Ive read it before. Took me awhile the first time.
My PlayStation Vita rocks since it lets me get on the normal GoodReads site. So yeah, i'm planning on being more active...that and im tired of not feeling like ive complish much being at home.

I would not want to travel with this book either. I am so happy to be done with it- in my edition once i got to page 425 it was faster (many pages had little text and others just had larger print so it was easier to read)
sadly i can't say the story picks up but at least it ends lol
Where are you traveling to for Thanksgiving?

Glad everything is good-you were missed! :D

I can't sleep tonight so maybe its a good night to pick it up again.
Phoenix to see my dad!

Have a great time, Christine! Safe trip :)

works for the bullying task
this book really got to me- highly recommend

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Did you have a wonderful Thanksgiving?

pizza actually sounds really good- i've never been much of a turkey fan- i ate chicken this year lol
Hope you enjoyed your book :)

I read Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer for bullying,
The Bluest Eye for a book that had been banned,
and House of Leaves for leaves in the title.
I'm glad everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was good but I am so glad to be home! Travel is not so much fun over holiday weekends, especially air travel.

I won't be completing the challenge on time but I will be finishing my third book for the challenge a bit late. I am really into The Dead Path (creepy cover) but I have to read it with my own two eyes because an audiobook is not available so it takes me longer.

3/4 is pretty close lol-
always glad to see you post, Jenn- hope all is well :D

The pizza was GREAT!! Sounds like everyone had a good Thanksgiving!

You're welcome, Danell :) the winter challenge will be posted soon but won't officially start until dec 7th.

i agree about looking forward to reading johnny's sections - i find his story less confusing and much more interesting than the story about the house (even if he is constantly high and can't seem to keep his pants on lol)
