I have read two of the series and might cross them up as it was a long time ago.
Basically a human male wakes up in a advanced star ship traveling somewhere. Eventually we learn that he has like a guardian psyche on another plane that is a stargod and he has sort of a mission to help other civilisations.
Early in the series in space i believe he rescues a blue humanlike alien female and then end up travelling together. She can't stand normal human temperatures being from a cold planet.
In one of the books they land on a planet, i think he was looking for somewhere to deposit the female he had rescued. He gets a job finding advanced electronic faults by linking into the system. He is able to diagnise the fault to impossible level of detail remotely which natives can't do. Anyway some sort of trouble arises and he escapes back to his starship with the female and they end up travelling together.
Book titles i 'think' were something like cereulean blue and hydra... red, but could be just bad memory.
