Nicolas (nicolaspelletier) | 9 comments Hi,

I have a translation of this book: https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...

In french, the editor published it in two volumes: 9782207301135 and 9782207301142.

Can I combine them with the english-written version ? Seeing these are the same literary work, I thought it would be logical, but I am not sure I ought to and I can't find reference to this in the librarian manual.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

NicP

Melaslithos | 1360 comments Indeed, the parts should not be combined with the complete edition.

What you can do if you insisted on linking the translation to the original is create a series with the translated books and add a link to the original in the series description. But do not add the original as an anthology in the series, I was told it might confuse readers to have the separated volumes + the full volume together when they do not both exist in all languages.

I think it's a bit the same situation as what has been discussed here:

Nicolas (nicolaspelletier) | 9 comments OK. I will not combine them with the original work in English.

Now, the idea to make a series is tempting but I would find it odd to have a book called: "Histoires Mystérieuses 1 ( Histoires Mysterieures #1 )"

In any case, many thanks for your answers.
