Two books related but not part of a series. Create one?

I've noticed that the book Beautiful Blood by Lucius Shepard is set in the same "world" of The Dragon Griaule, by the same author, and along with me other reviewers recommend to read Beautiful Blood after The Dragon Griaule, or at least to read both. These books are not part of a series, but are closely related. Should a "series" be created, say "The Dragon Griaule world" to bind the books together, adding in the series notes that though the books are standalones, they evolve around the same world? Thank you.

It really does not seem like a series to me. One is a collection of shorts, and the other a novel. Related, yes. A series? Well . . .

I did add a link to the earlier collection to the description of the later novel.

Wonderful idea! I thought it was important to convey the relation, though it's not a series and I wasn't sure how to proceed. Thank you.
