SOLVED. YA fantasy about colours disappearing and a boy in search for them. [s]

Hey guys, I would love to get some help to search for a book I've been trying to find for years now.

I read it around 2003-2010.

From what I can remember, it was about a world where suddenly all the colours disappeared and everything became black and white. A boy got the task to search for the colours and items (?) connected to them. I think it was seven colours, but I am not entirely sure.

I can however remember how he found the colour blue: It was inside a lake. At the bottom of it, there was a gigantic blue eye.

The cover was a black and white world. On the front was a giant gate/ruin. Through the gate you could see the sun.
It was the cover of the German version of the book.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think that the word for "colour" was in the German title (which would be "Farbe" or "Farben" - plural)

Is this a picture book (about 32-48 pages) or a chapter book with mostly words?

I read that book a long time ago, when I was little. Sadly, I wasn't too concerned about whether there was an English version or not. So I cannot answer that question.

It is a chaptered book.

1000% sure it's Das Erbe des Magiers by
Jonas Torsten Krüger.
I remembered reading it in my native tongue and it took me full 5 days days to remember the title because googling "missing colours" did not help one bit.
