Rachel | 1527 comments I'm looking for books where a journalist is investigating a powerful figure (or family), and initially gets in trouble for going public without enough evidence. But they keep pursuing the case and eventually they are proven right. They may or may not able to clear their name and publicly expose the person they are investigating.

Some examples would be:

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo: at the start of the book, Blomkvist loses a libel case against the billionaire Hans-Erik Wennerström. Eventually by the end of the book he is able to get sufficient evidence to publish a book revealing Wennerström's crimes.

Night Film: Scott McGrath is sued for his claims about the film director Stanislas Cordova. Later he starts investigating Cordova again and at least some of his theories appear to have substance, although it seems Scott will not be publicly vindicated. (been a while since I read this one).

Can anyone think of more books with a similar plot?
