Bridgid | 9 comments I'm looking for a book I read that was about a modern woman who was somehow connected to the past. There were ibizan hounds who talked in the book and they loved cheetos. There was also an ancient pyramid on the campus of a college in it. Any ideas?

When did you read this? Remember the cover? Author female or male?

Marie | 273 comments Definitely Dogs and Goddesses. Dogs and Goddesses by Jennifer Crusie It is told from the POV of three women, all of which turn out to be descendants of mesopotamian goddesses. One of their powers is that they can understand dogs, since dogs were apparently revered in their ancient civilization. One dog in particular loves Cheetos. One of the women is a college professor who lives in the ruins of an ancient temple that her grandfather dug up on an excavation and brought back to the states. One of the buildings on campus is also part of that temple.

How is this still unsolved after so many years? This is one of my favorite books! People need to know about this!

That's a popular author. I myself have never read her, though.

Just goes to show you should put something snappy in your header and people will notice!

Peter Meilinger | 469 comments Am I supposed to believe there are dogs who don't love Cheetos? Because I don't believe that.

Marie | 273 comments Haha well this one talked so having a dog yelling "CHEETOS!!!" ecstatically was somewhat more dramatic in the book than my border collie delicately sniffing at a few Cheetos on the ground and licking them tentatively. :P

Bridgid, can you confirm that "Dogs and Goddesses" is your book?

Shandi Pattison (shandipandi) | 20 comments Ok. So I don’t know what you’re looking for... but i’d Like to recommend “Fifteen Dogs” for you to read. I don’t know how to include links yet:
