Chris Haught (haughtc) | 916 comments As our discussion month for Assassin's Apprentice winds down, I thought I'd throw out a question about where to go from here. I've seen from various threads that many have read the rest of the Farseer trilogy and subsequent books by Hobb. So my question is mainly for those, like me, that have just read AA for the first time. This isn't a thread to discuss happenings in future books. If someone wants to talk about that, please feel free to start a thread for it and label it *spoilers*....

Do you plan to continue with the Farseer trilogy? If so, do you also plan to read Liveship Traders and The Tawny Man trilogies? Or have you already begun with these?

(Okay, so that was three questions)

Jon (jonmoss) | 529 comments No, I don't plan to continue with this series, at least not in the foreseeable future. Too gut wrenching and depressing.

Libby | 242 comments I bought Royal Assassin and plan to continue. While I agree with Jon that it was quite an emotional book, I still loved it and want to continue with the series.

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments I've only read the first two in the Farseer, and still haven't finished the third. It was my plan to reread them all, but so far I haven't done that yet. I also want to continue on with Liveship Traders and Tawny Man, but I don't know when I'll get to those. Might not be years from now, but I do ultimately want to continue on with Hobb's books.

Janny (jannywurts) | 807 comments I read on and finished the trilogy years ago....loved the second book particularly.

Carolina (carolina86) After reading the first one I definitely would love to read the rest of the trilogy. Although it was gut wrenching the author was a great writer to inspire that kind of emotion. Hopefully in the next two they'll be a little happier?

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 916 comments I also plan to read the rest, eventually. It's just a matter of finding time and getting some copies...

message 8: by Fox (new) - rated it 4 stars

Fox (foxmists) | 218 comments I have read the 2nd and am about halfway through the third. I also enjoyed the 2nd even more. So far, I have no finished the third due to time constraints. I do try to get in at least a chapter a day though...

Tracy Dobbs | 121 comments Maybe some year, but not right now. It was just too depressing, and I'm looking more at light, quick reads for now.

message 10: by Ena (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ena (enantoiel) I'm at the last book of Tawny Man and I'll say this; no book(series) ever took this much time for me to finish! plot of the all series are so hard core heart wrenching that I occasionally quit reading and after a time keep reading again.

Especially after first book of farseer series, I hoped some sort of compensation for the Fizt in any way but when I finised second book I felt like an emotional wreck and I couldn't go on book three, was afraid Hobb decided to make the plot an epic tragedy. After reading lots of spoilers for book three, I convinced myself to give it a go.

When I read the series, I feel the need to watch a lot of "feel good" movies :D

meleah (meleahreads) I'm a little behind - but I did finally read Assassin's Apprentice and I really enjoyed it. I'm starting the 2nd one now.
