I'm not sure how much action this one has though."
I have been wanting to read one of Daniel Suarez books for a while now...sounds like a good one!

Danielle, I'll nominate my new WWII thriller, Imminent Threat, which details the Japanese I-400-class aircraft carrier submarine.Imminent Threat: A Jonathan Preston Novel
I'm going to nominate The Circle I don't think many noticed it when it was released (most didn't seem to notice the movie either). Anyway I like it.
I nominate Alpha
by Steven Konkoly (Black Flagged #1) - it's tagged several times action/adventure/techno(-thriller) so I hope it works.A "RETIRED" COVERT OPERATIVE WILL DO ANYTHING TO GUARD HIS DARKEST SECRETS...
Daniel Petrovich, formerly part of the Department of Defense's infamous Black Flag Program, protects a secret buried in the deepest vaults of the Pentagon. Blackmailed into executing one final mission for his previous commanding officer, Daniel's carefully constructed "life" rapidly disintegrates into a relentless federal manhunt--and a "24-style" race against the clock to suppress the shocking truth about his past. To survive, he'll release the darkest side of his concealed identity. A dark side with few boundaries--and even fewer loyalties.
Alpha lays the foundation for a gritty, high-octane series exploring the serpentine link between covert operations and government agency politics.

Sounds like a good one, have this on my TBR
I’m nominating my new book ‘Task Force Identity’.In the fight against a ruthless criminal network operating on four continents, CIA Analyst Regina Livingston may just be the ace in the hole for Interpol.

Retracting my nomination. Just saw the rule about not nominating our own books. My apologies! Disregard!

Daemon appears to have good reviews.
The poll is up. I can't figure out how to link to it on my phone. I'm in a conference right now. But when I figure it out but when I get back to the hotel I will go ahead and send out an official name for the pole. Apologies.
I'm so happy ALPHA won and I'm looking forward to start it soon.Since it will be my first group read in this group I was wondering how it does work? Who's setting up a thread for the discussion and leading it? Is there a time frame? Do we read along a page #/chapter distribution plan or everyone at his/her own pace?
I looked into some of the past BOTM threads but they were so diverse (I hope that's the correct word) I didn't work it out.

Hi, Agnieszka. I open up the discussion thread on the 1st day of the month. I am about to do it now.
We read the book from the 1st through the end of the month. People can post comments and thoughts as they go. We used to post discussion questions, but things have been a little hectic lately. Feel free to post some if you would like.
We don't have a set chapter/page # format, but read as you go. The thread is marked for spoilers, but people are welcome to use spoiler tags as well.
Thanks for your enthusiasm. I hope I answered all your questions!

Thank you so much.
Since I'm pretty current on my planned books I plan to start the book tonight, that way I should be finished before the next group challenge's book next Tuesday.

"A techno-thriller (also known as technothrillers) is a hybrid genre drawing from science fiction, thrillers, spy fiction, action, and war novels. They include a disproportionate amount (relative to other genres) of technical details on their subject matter (typically military technology); The inner workings of technology and the mechanics of various disciplines (espionage, martial arts, politics) are thoroughly explored, and the plot often turns on the particulars of that exploration."
So let's nominate a High Tech Thriller! It should have some degree of action/adventure even if it's in another genre.
Because it's close to the end of the month, we'll only have about five days for you to post your nominations and then five to vote. Sorry about that.
(Please recall that we don't vote for books we've already had as a group read--There's a link below to check our list of previous group reads).
Here are the other considerations:
1. One nomination per group member. The books must be nominated with a Goodreads link by clicking on 'add book/author'. If a book does not have a Goodreads link, it will not be added to the poll.
2. Books need to be readily available, ie, in print (able to buy new or in ebook format).
3. Books should have some degree of action/adventure content.
4. Past group reads are not eligible to be nominated again. The past group discussions remain open for members to comment. You can view the list of past reads here:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
5. Books must be either standalone or first in a series (or they may be later in a series if constructed to be read as a standalone).
6. Authors are asked not to nominate their own books or solicit nominations from members.
Please feel free to include a blurb for the book so others know a little about the book, along with your Goodreads book link.
The poll will go up on July 26th.
