Hey guys!
The extra categories have been updated on the spreadsheet! I’ve actually added 3 extra categories instead of 2. Check them out! They’re pretty varied so maybe they’ll help prompt you to look for different kind of books😊

There’s no pressure to complete these new tasks. I’m sticking to what I’m reading right now and I have 3 books planned after that so I won’t be touching the new tasks for a while or if at all.

I think it’s fine if we say what we’re reading. I mean I don’t really mind. Also I think I’ll put it for task 21 and then move the one that’s in 21 right now because I haven’t started reading that book anyway and I’m sure it can go elsewhere.
Also, I’m flying today so if I’m MIA and not getting back to you it’s because I’m on the plane with no WiFi.

I’ve just shared the spreadsheet with you but by the looks of the books blurb it could fulfil task 38. A book with a protagonist that plays a sport competitively. Right now that’s fulfill..."
That one works I think, I finished the book the same day I posted (the 13th). It also would work for a group of 5 or more friends
Oh great Dana! I just added it to the spreadsheet. Question: did you finish Finding Orion? Also could you add The Breakaways to your challenge shelf? Thanks😊
Great Dana! I’ll add it to the spreadsheet!! What are you planning on reading next? I’m still reading The Spiderwick Chronicles Book 1. I’ve been so busy lately I haven’t been able to finish it even though it’s so short.

Looks good Dana! Is the first book well written? It looks so interesting and I’m definitely ready to fall in love with a new MG adventure series! Plus it’s short so it won’t take me forever to get through.

I should finish it tonight and then I am going to start reading a book for task 1.
Has anyone read the book Ivy Aberdeen's Letter to the World? It's a cute lgbt friendly middlegrade novel that would work for task 4 and I think task 2 and 7 should be kind of easy to find as well?
Great Dana! I’ll add it to the spreadsheet later today. Also the book you mentioned above looks good👍🏻 let me know when you finish it.
Hey guys,
So I just realised what the date was. I’ve been super busy having just moved to London and my days have just been packed full of stuff so sorry for uploading the bonus tasks late.
Just to clarify in case of questions:
For BT8: “A book written by an author who has 6 or more letter ‘A’s in their entire name” — that means their entire name as written on the cover of the book, so that includes middle names or second name or hyphenated last names only if it is written on the cover of the book. And if they use a pen name it means their pen name.
For BT9. “A book that is a special reprinting anniversary edition” — the edition of the book read must be the anniversary edition. And to explain what they are in case you’ve never come across one before: popular books are sometimes reprinted for their anniversary like 10 years or 20 years or 50, etc.
For BT10. “A book that has 7 different cover designs” — this means the book read has 7 different editions that all have 7 different cover designs. Any qs on this one regarding specific books please bring them to me.
For BT11. “A book with a cover that is more than 75% gold” — there’s no way to accurately measure 75%; I trust you to be able to eyeball it. It’s basically more than half the cover but doesn’t have to be the whole cover. And it has to be gold. Not yellow.
For BT12. “A book with a protagonist whose name contains the letter ‘Q’” — the ‘Q’ can be found in any part of the name, first name, second name, last name, hyphenated last name, etc. Nicknames don’t count. It must be the protagonist (main character).
That’s all the questions I thought you could come up with. If you have any that I’ve missed please get your captains to do their thing😊

I’m actually changing my strategy from the beach one and am gonna read Furthermore to get us that bonus point and really start working on the bonus ones to try to close the point gap a little (even though at this point it seems futile)

I tried to read a book I thought would fit for the beach because it takes place at a motel on St Pete Beach but I don't know that they're actually at the beach enough for it to count? I'm 30% in to it and they've mentioned the beach/beachfront property but they haven't actually been at the beach, so I'm not sure, I used the search function and it does seem like there are scenes later on at the actual beach but it still seems iffy?
Yeah I meant Ivy Aberdeen but if you don’t want to read that book that’s fine. I mean it would definitely make more sense to target the bonus tasks to get as many points as possible. Although it kind of is futile now😂 we have strong competition but it’s worth all the great books we read!
Yeah I figured it was you from another account Dana no worries😂 up to you if you want to continue the book or not. I’m sure it could fit for something else if it doesn’t fit for the beach one anyway but if it doesn’t seem worth it then DNF it I guess

Sure Ilsen! Go for it😊 I’m close to finishing Spiderwick book 1. Then I’m going to race to finish book 2 and move on to new books instead of these rereads.

I'm going to do bonus 3 with the book Refugee and 2 with Furthermore

Hey guys,
I’m so sorry I’ve been super busy because I’ve been moving into a new apartment but I’m adding them all now! And yeah it’s totally fine if you want to add them yourselves guys.

I just put it down for BT6 because we get the most points from that. And I just finished the first Spiderwick book and I’ve already started the second!
Hey guys!
So I know the challenge is over but I hope you all had fun reading new and old books! I've had so much fun coming up with this challenge and taking part with you guys.
I'm hoping to host another challenge just like this but expanded more in either March or May next year. I'll put info up on the group closer to the time. I've got some interesting ideas for mini-game style tasks.
Thank you for making this challenge such a success!

I’ve just shared the spreadsheet with you but by the looks of the books blurb it could fulfil task 38. A book with a protagonist that plays a sport competitively. Right now that’s fulfilled by Bridge to Terabithia but I can move that book because it fulfils loads of different tasks. I can put that book for task 16 and then we’d have 2 categories finished! You might find other tasks your book fulfils anyway, so let me know😊
