Joshua Styles | 8 comments I'm understanding why it's an important work of literature and there are some masterfully written sections, but this is not making my top 10 anytime soon...

Joshua Styles | 8 comments You all are the only reason I'm still reading this. We will all suffer together.

Joshua Styles | 8 comments it's good about separating what's rambling and what's dialogue.

Pros: the ramblings are softer than the dialogue (almost like he's whispering his thoughts to you so no one else hears them)

Cons: if you bump up the volume to hear the mumbling, dialogue pierces the crap out of your eardrums. Especially Buck Mulligan. he's super loud.

Also the ramblings are very vast. With Game of thrones i could listen to the book at 1.5 speed, no problem and cut down the length. Ulysses is going to take the full 30 hours it seems.

The narrator also does well to use different voices and accents well so you always know who's talking.

it's just struggling to keep my interest.

Beth | 4 comments I'm not very far along yet, but I've decided you have to approach it like stream-of-consciousness reading. I don't pay a lot of attention to any one sentence, but just go with the flow!

And I love your summary of the formatting. I've never seen another book like it!
