Yeah, I took the opportunity to read a couple of graphics :)
Going to start my SZ2 book now.
And you'll be glad to hear that we didn't get singed feet: I carpet bombed young Son, and got her book onto our sheet in the nick of time! That lava was CLOSE! :)

Woohh!!
That was lucky!
Wouldn't have been comfortable to continue with burned feet haha. And singed hair would totally have cramped our style ;-)

And how could we have held our heads up as Mods?! ;-p
(yeah, I could totally have found a way to spin any damage to our benefit...)

This is a very disturbing book I'm reading. Topic-wise. The writing and the story are well-done! But my skin is crawling a bit at times...
I've also ignored the BOM in favour of this one hehe. I want to know how it continues.
Need to get my hands on the movie once I'm done with the book. I can totally see Joseph Gordon Lewitt in Neil's role.

I'm halfway through mine. I'm planning on doing a bit of cleaning and tidying today, so not sure how much reading I'll get done, but I'll hopefully be done with the SZ2 book by tomorrow! :-)

I know you Chipmunks would never get burnt feet or singed hair... but if you did, would you post the injuries here to your own team thread, or would you just be like "Yeah, yeah, we know what we did."
:D

We nearly got burnt, Alysa!
Karen would post here - only fair!

That would be funny. But I am sure you will never get burnt! :D"
We'll avoid some of the pitfalls, but life happens to us too, so we might get hit by countdown problems!

hurrah! I've been reading a longer book and listening to another whilst I wait for you guys to finish holidaying ;-)

nice: a Y or B (is Bruiser still in them at that point?) will be useful :)

This seriously is a strange book but I can only recommend it at the same time. Odd...
30 odd pages left to read, so I should be done with it tonight. Need a bit of a breather now though and to stretch my legs. I've been sitting with my nose inside the book for the past 3 hours haha (okay, I've slept for at least half an hour of that but whatever :-p).

strange and weird and unsettling can often be highly recommendable! The Wasp Factory, for instance, is super creepy and upsetting but should be pressed into the hands of all teens, imo.
Technically, I'm supposed to be reading the BOM, but I'm honestly not sure I want to... I'm off to bed now and might read another page or two in The Sun Is Also a Star and if it doesn't pull me in, I'll switch to something else.
Whoop! Just need Laura’s & I can start finishing books. :-P
I started th BOM (the N is helpful, apart from anything else)

I'm finally starting to get into the BOM a little, so I'll try and get that done before the week is up :-)
hahahahaha! proof that this mod doesn't know what's going on with the tasks: I'm currently reading two books with titles starting with O, so both wasted for the ACID countdown!

uhmmmm... maybe I should look into the ACID tasks too
Yeah, we might want to start plotting countdown tasks.
Are we going to do both SZ1 & 2 this time? SZ1 tasks are worth it now...

I'll do the CAT task....
I can do the state in title too - I found a series of ridiculously silly KU titles, ~100 pages, and the next in the series has Texas in the title

also: more than 400 pages?! why didn't we spot that and call it out as being too hard?!
We are total failures at skewing challenges to our strengths!

ah, that's where you are wrong! we get a bonus of 50 points if we complete them this time, which makes them more attractive (puts them over the 40 points/book line) :)

lemme look at my arcs...

Its good to be wrong... it makes you humble. Those bonus points aren't readily seen on the GR app.

I should have made that task over 500 pages or 600 pages to at least make it a little more challenging :P

I volunteer for the 400+ pages task if nobody else wants to reeeeally take that one. Gives me an excuse to read Hunting Evil, which has almost 500 pages.

True, it was hidden; and the main reason I spotted them is 'cos I worked with Karen on finding a level for the bonus points ;)

SZ2: acid / neon green cover?! I might have to go check out some of those really bad doughnut cosy mysteries, see if one of those fits the bill

I'll start reading that today then - along with the BOM, which I still haven't started yet haha.
I finished up The Last Watch, because I really wanted to know how it ends and it was bugging me to leave those last 100 pages unattended ;-)
