ABANDONED. maze, labyrinth, princess lost, don't think there was a monster

I remember I book that I read maybe 10 years ago. Whether the book was new or old I couldn't say.

I remember the cover had a maze or labyrinth made of stone walls on the front and think it was red, I could be wrong.

I don't remember much about the story line other than someone had to go into the maze/labyrinth for some reason and I believe there was a Princess.

I don't think there was a monster in the Labyrinth but there could have been.

It was a small book maybe 300 pages at the most, pocket paperback.

Pan's Labyrinth and Jim Henson's Labyrinth are not it either as they are based on the films.

Not that one either, but an excellent book anyways. I think that one is more confusing tunnels than a maze.

Longshot, but perhaps one of the Gregor the Overlander books? Some of the covers are reddish, and there are often labyrinthine passages in the caves. One character is a princess/queen, while another is often called Princess.

Thanks for the suggestion but it was definitely a standalone book.

Additional thoughts on the cover:

- Had a maze/labyrinth
- Red or orange background
- Text was yellow or gold I think
- Name of the book was Maze or had maze in it
- There may have been a girl's face on it as well
- published in Canada

There was another book I got at the same time that I cannot remember the name of either and that one was something game. I think they were published by the same company.
