Looking for books with insecure heroine and protective, tender alpha

Hey! I’m currently craving a book with an insecure and downtrodden heroine (maybe she’s been abused, hasn’t known love, lacks self-confidence, etc) and super protective, tender alpha hero. If he’s older that’s a plus! Like, he can be a total bad ass but needs to be different just with her.

-In this book the H is a bad guy but loves the h so much. IT's a great book.
Any book written by Lisa Marie Rice (I love her earlier books)


-This book is so sweet. The H is considered unattractive and the h is blind. He is very protective of the h. I read this book years ago and still remember it very well.
