Nicky نیکی | 10 comments Hey! I’m currently craving a book with an insecure and downtrodden heroine (maybe she’s been abused, hasn’t known love, lacks self-confidence, etc) and super protective, tender alpha hero. If he’s older that’s a plus! Like, he can be a total bad ass but needs to be different just with her.

I'm finishing up a story similar to like this one. It's the first story in this collection, which is free.

NAVY SEAL BOX SET - Midnight Delta Books 1-3 https://amzn.to/2Y33DLR

He really is good to her. I'll see if I can think of some others.

Thanks for this topic. I really like these kinds of heroines and heroes. They're not so easy to find.

I really enjoyed these two. He's a protective alpha, and she's a school teacher who needs and lets this man protect her.

MJ | 81 comments Into the Crossfire (Protectors, #1) by Lisa Marie Rice Shine Not Burn (Shine Not Burn, #1) by Elle Casey
The Bad Guy by Celia Aaron -In this book the H is a bad guy but loves the h so much. IT's a great book.
Any book written by Lisa Marie Rice (I love her earlier books)
Midnight Man (Midnight, #1) by Lisa Marie Rice
Dangerous Lover (Dangerous, #1) by Lisa Marie Rice
Midnight Angel (Midnight, #3) by Lisa Marie Rice -This book is so sweet. The H is considered unattractive and the h is blind. He is very protective of the h. I read this book years ago and still remember it very well.

I enjoyed this one too.

SB*needs low angst books* | 825 comments Fix Her Up (The Fix, #1) by Carey Heywood , Wild & Sweet (The Haven Brotherhood, #2) by Rhenna Morgan , Beard Science (Winston Brothers, #3) by Penny Reid , Trick by Laramie Briscoe , and Splendor (Inevitable, #2) by Janet Nissenson

Here are some others with insecure heroines. Splendor has a big age difference between hero and heroine.

Zaeris | 2 comments I'd say that Kneading You: A Small Town Love Story counts. Thomas is both strong and caring. Selflessly so, even after his rough upbringing.

catzkc | 2 comments I really enjoy Susan Stoker, and a lot of hers have kind of that theme. One's I can think of off the top of my head are:

Protecting Cheyenne (SEAL of Protection, #5) by Susan Stoker Rescuing Harley (Delta Force Heroes #3) by Susan Stoker Securing Sidney (SEAL of Protection Legacy #2) by Susan Stoker Rescuing Wendy (Delta Force Heroes #8) by Susan Stoker Protecting Fiona (SEAL of Protection, #3) by Susan Stoker

MJ | 81 comments Eleven (Eternals, #1) by J. Marie
I highly recommend this book by Marie Jordan (writing as J. Maire)
The H, Eleven, was created in a lab to become a perfect weapon for the government. He and the other men who will hopefully get their own books are ALPHA MALES who have special powers. The H is sweet to the h. It kind of reminds me of the Fury (New Species, #1) by Laurann Dohner . This book was great.
