Hi, I had a family member pass away and ask me to read his favorite book. I cannot remember the title. It is a science fiction novel from the mid 20th century, along the lines of Brave New World, 1984, etc. The plot was about wise rulers/overlords of earth who befriend our species but do not reveal their identity for hundreds of years. Several generations of people pass and finally they come to earth and reveal they look like the devil. At this future time, no one remembers what the devil looked like or symbolized. The story has to do with how people still feel unsettled by their appearance on a subconscious level. Any help to find this book is appreciated. I am not an avid reader but wanted to respect my uncles wish and read it. Thank you. -David
