ABANDONED. (thriller) book for my totally non-reader friend, playground picture on the cover with swings on the left where one swing is swinging upwards, and a merry go round or spinning wheel on the left.

I met an interesting friend recently who is not a reader. But, he told me he once borrowed this one thriller book from a friend in class for a few periods and couldn't put it down. She literally had to claw it out of his hands in the end when she needed it again. It was the first and last time he got so hooked on a book. For the life of him he can't remember the title or the author.
I like this guy, and would like to surprise him someday (it really takes a LOT to make an impression on him).
He described the cover with the following:
A dark green with bordering black. A playground picture on the cover with swings on the left where one swing is swinging upwards, and a merry go round or spinning wheel on the left.
I will really try and find out more, plot etc. The year is between 2009 and 2012.
I really hope someone can help me here!
