I am not offended at all (just concerned that there may be people who would click on this thread and have the book spoiled, but that was not a reason to delete your post, it could have been just edited).

What a genius! It was very difficult to find this thread again, since the OP had deleted all the information about the book. To recap: The Serpent is about a detective on the trail of a serial killer who murders pregnant women. The serial killer is now stalking the detective’s pregnant wife. (view spoiler)[It turns out that it is the schizophrenic detective who is the murderer. He had some scarring experience in childhood involving his sister, I believe. (hide spoiler)]
