I don't believe that Dumbledore would have wanted to see who struck the final blow to his sister. The possibility that it may have been him would have been too much to bear. I think it more likely that his hearts desire would have been to see his family reunited and happy, just as that was Harry's desire. Harry didn't desire to see why he lived instead of died that night, he wanted a world where that event had never even taken place. He wanted to feel whole and loved again.
i think JKR stated in an interview somewhere that - not unlike harry - dumbledore would see his family whole again if he looked in the mirror.
Once you read the last book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, you will understand more. She explains quite a bit.
Shahriar is quite right. JK Rowling explained in an interview that Dumbledore, when looking into the mirror, saw nothing but his family as it once was - Healthy, fine, normal. :)
Snape named himself Half Blood Prince simply because he is half blood and his mother's surname was Prince. This is the one book where you discover just how talented Snape really is...HBP that is

And what are peoples ideas about what Dumbledore sees when he looks in the Mirror of Erised? I feel like Rowling leads on to a couple of ideas but still leaves it a mystery. Does Albus see his family, just like Harry? Or does the mirror reveal his greatest weakness, a desire for power, with the Hallows?
