SOLVED. Children’s book about brother and sister who find goblins in their backyard. [s]

I don’t remember the overarching plot of the book although I remember some very vivid details and plot points.

I read the book circa 2013 and it wasn’t an old book, so I’m sure it was probably published between 2008-2013

****Spoilers from here on out****

1) it was about a family with two parents who were slightly oblivious, there was a young boy and his slightly older sister (they were both under the age of 13 I feel like) somehow one of the kids ends up finding a society of goblins (or something along that line, maybe trolls or angry gnomes)

2) the brother is replaced by one of these creatures and the sister notices but her parents don’t. She realizes this when he goes to take a bath and comes back “scrubbed pink” because she knows her little brother would never be that clean as he loved the dirt and mud too much

3) she goes to rescue him and realizes that in the goblins society they can see another color, and she can see it too. She describes this new color as reddish orangish but burns behind the eyes. I think her hair was also this color.

It's been a long time since I read them, but maybe The Field Guide? There are two brothers (twins), and an older sister.

The color of the girl’s hair that gnomes and the girl can see is from Fairest. But not the rest.
It sounds like The Replacement, but that’s not a kids’ book.
A Gaggle of Goblins is also a possibility.
