I might be a little biased since I spent my earliest years next to a flower shop and helped out a little, but I loved this part of the premise so much! I was just spending time with friends discussing the meaning of flowers, so the glossary of them in the back of this book is so cool!

On the topic of the book itself, I felt really conflicted. I didn't really love the writing, and while CJ reminded me a bit of a friend, when she was super unlikable it was almost hard to read. She was so petty just for the sake of it at times!

I love flower shops as a premise! I just started and adore it so far.

Yeah, I'm not super far yet, but it does read a bit immature for the MC, which isn't really my thing.

OH and before bed last night I was telling my SO all about it and he said he was super hyped that fiction books are able to put facts in it like that and have it not sound like a textbook. She did such a good job.

Yeah the chapters detailing the history of Japanese internment were really good.

(view spoiler)[This is so dramatic... *sigh* I feel like I'm watching a teen drama show. I don't like how CJ treats her mother, she doesn't even listen to her and I guess is the hormones but still... I can't connect with any of the characters everything around CJ is so dramatic and still is only talking about boys but anyway, she is so "different" yeah right.

I think the important part about this book is she thinking for the racist guy but I can't even concentrate because at the same time she is always thinking about a guy. (hide spoiler)]

I would like there were more communication between them in the whole book instead of CJ's drama with her friends. I really didn't care about anything so when CJ confront the guy who bought all the buildings I was already indifferent with everything.
