S. Naomi Scott (snaomiscott) | 2 comments Hi there

I've just joined NetGalley (UK) this week and had my first request approved. In the approval the publishers have specified not to publish my review any earlier that two weeks before book publication date, and to send them a copy of the review via e-mail or through NetGalley.

Now, I get that this means I shouldn't post my review on my blog/Goodreads/Amazon, etc before the embargo date, but does this also mean I shouldn't post it on NetGalley until then? Or is it okay to post it on NetGalley at any point?

Many thanks in advance.

Naomi

Hi Naomi, I post my review to Goodreads, my blog and NetGalley immediately after I finish the book, mainly because I write my review in Goodreads. However I don't (can't) post the review to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo and Google until release day. If there is more than one or two weeks between my review and the release day I also 'bump' my review for release by posting it to my feed in Goodreads. However, my blog is really just for me and so publishing reviews early makes no real difference. Hope that helps.

Dorie - Cats&Books :) (dorie--catsbooks) | 427 comments Hi Naomi I've been doing this for 4 years now and I always post my reviews to NetGalley , Goodreads and Edelweiss immediately after I've read the book and written the review. I post to BookBub and Amazon upon publication. I've never ever had a problem doing it this way :) Have fun!

However I am in the US so don't know if different rules apply to UK. I also don't send the publisher a copy of my review, that's what the NetGalley review is for :)
