Mari The murder and the magic are both afterthoughts. We are not really given any clues as to the murder, and the "rules" for the magic are completely inane. They are like something a kid would think up. But the worst parts were the real life logic; WHY does Darcy think Heather is a pick pocket when she has not ever been arrested for doing it, and someone would actually need some skill to pick a pocket. We are told all of Heather's crimes were in connection to ACTIVISM, not gaining wealth. That makes zero sense.
WHY would the people be soooo concerned about the tourists being turned off by a pickpocket, which is doubtful, as they are around most fairs and festivals, probably, but NOT AT ALL concerned that tourists would run the other way from a murderer???? I jut don't understand what anyone might like here.

Dhfan4life I gave it props for having magic, witches, and in general just being different than what I was normally reading. But yes I will admit this one and the second ones were kind of written a bit all over the place. But she got better with the third and forth ones.
