I remember the blue cover of the book having a white fix head on it. the name of the protagonist was part of the book's title. furthermore it's atleast a duology (I don't know if there were published more books about the story). I think I discovered the book 2018.

Is 2018 around when the book was published, or do you have a sense of around what year or decade it was published? Also, I just want to check: what is a "white fix head"? Do you mean "white fish head"?
oh! I didn't notice the typo! I'm sorry, it's a fox' (or wolf's) head on the cover.I can't remember if it was published 2018 but I found out about it around that time.
I barely remember the cover and I don't even know the story. but I remember reading a comment from someone saying the antagonist is one of the best (but it wasn't someone on goodreads). also: because my head remembers english texts as german I also don't know if it was a german or english book.
I think, that's all I can remember for now (+ the things I already mentioned).
I'll bet that's helpful. Do you think the head was more realistic or more stylized in appearance? Facing forward or in profile?
it was facing forward and it looked like a white fox' head. (the background was a dark blue, I'm not sure if there was more to be seen...)in my memory it looks more realistic but still kinda simpel? (if that makes sense).
Wow. I checked, and there's a list of books with Foxes on the cover. I'll skim it but you may want to look in case it jars your memory.
There's something I wasn't sure about but: I'm kind of sure that the book was meant for younger audience, around 10 year old children. One probably wouldn't expect it (atleast I didn't) after reading that it's about some evil spirit trying to possess a boy's body (I think they get along with each other after a while?). But I'm pretty sure I deleted the title from my to-read-list because I thought it wasn't meant for my age and wouldn't satisfy me. After I read some other books for the same range of audience though, I now regret my choice...
and similar to "Strange the Dreamer" there is a word in the title which is also the name of the protagonist. (sorry for commenting so many times on my own topic but with my research I keep remembering things which I think could help finding it)
Glad you found your book, Iryna. Here's the link - The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding by Alexandra Bracken.
