Mel | 2360 comments Inspired by a list that included a blanket fort, I wanted to try a challenge that wasn't just about what I read, but the experience of reading. (Still included who/what sections to round out the theme.) Hopefully some of these challenge my reading habits and encourage some new memories.

Who
An author I’ve never read
An author of color
An essayist
A playwright
A poet

What
A comfort read
A book that made me laugh out loud The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet
A book I’d be embarrassed to read in public Eternally Bound
A book written before 1950
A book on my shelves for over a year

Where
Read in the park
Read on public transit
Read in a café
Read in a blanket fort
Read in the bath

When
Read in the morning before work
Read on a day when I do not access the internet
Read all night until dawn The Lightning-Struck Heart
Read immediately upon finishing another book
Read while traveling on vacation

Why
Read to learn something new
Read to get hot and bothered Incubus Caged
Read to avoid an awkward situation
Read because it was free Checkmate: This is War (Travis & Viola, #1)
Read because there was a FBR Unveiled

How
Read aloud to someone
Read aloud by someone
Read with a sketchbook
Read by flashlight
Read naked!

Mel | 2360 comments Thanks! I hope it goes well!

For other challenges, I pretty much already have an idea of what I want to read, and afterwards just match up what I can where I can. But I like the idea that with many of these, I could take whatever I'm reading at the time, and challenge myself to try something new. There's a lovely gazebo by the lake just 2 minutes from my new place, and I always mean to sit there and read, but I could use the extra push of a challenge to set aside enforced leisure time.
