"Good morning, Miss Hales. Thank you." She looked over at Logan uncertainly, pulling out a chair for herself and sitting down. Her hand was still intertwined with his, held out behind her. "How did you sleep?" She asked his mom, her voice extra polite.

Her face turned pink and she chuckled, looking at their intertwined fingers on the table. "Yes, ma'am." She hoped her voice wasn't shaky. Why was she so uncomfortable and nervous around his parents? They were nice people."Where is your dad?" She whispered, squeezing his hand.
((agh sorry! I tried to take a nap but instead I slept for 14 hours...been a long week.))She smiled up at his mother, taking the warm plate into her hands. "Thank you," She said, entirely aware of her shaken appearance. Her clothes were rumpled, it felt like there was a big knot in her hair, and there were the indentations from the sheets on her legs, but there wasn't exactly anything she could do about it.
"Are we going to eat here, or..?" She asked Logan, raising her eyebrows in question.
"Nice to meet you," She said for the second time, giving his mom a warm smile. She stood up and pushed her chair back slowly, beginning to walk towards the living room. She was nervous his mother would get suspicious if they went back up to his room. She sat on the couch and place her plate on the coffee table. Despite how small she was, she had a huge appetite, so she picked up a piece of bacon. She was starving.
She looked over at him, finishing the last bite on her first and only plate. She was already stuffed.Poking his cheek, she chuckled. "Boys. You're never not hungry."
She leaned her shoulder against his, chewing slowly.
"No, thank you." One of her hands pulled her dress down while the other lay on top of his. She smiled slightly. "If you get any taller, it might be a bit frightening. Then you'd really be Godzilla." She turned her head to look at him.
"Please, Aine will beat you by, what, a foot?" She was just messing with him, obviously. "Aine's eating about nine pounds of food everyday. She's getting taller too."Her smile stretched across her face.
"Aine could probably destroy the whole Earth, if she wanted to. Actually, I have no doubt."She met his eyes. "Why?"
She grinned, nuzzling her face into the crook of his neck. She retracted immediately, remembering he was still eating. She smiled sheepishly.
"What do you want to do?" She stood up too, smoothing her dress down. "We could go out..but if it's not too much trouble..could we go over to my house first? I want to change." She chuckled awkwardly, hoping she wasn't acting needy. She didn't want to wear out her welcome.
((sorry. i didn't see your response!))"Yea. Thanks.) She grinned and stepped out. "Thanks for letting me stay over. I live above this florist downtown. We can't really afford a huge house, with my job at the bookstore and his selling books. We get by though. With some to spare."
She shrugged, suddenly regretting telling him basically her whole life story when he probably didn't want to hear it.
"I hated reading before I started working there, as a freshman." She shrugged. "Yeah. Just turn left here, and keep going straight. The florist is just on the right for about a mile. Made out of bricks. Living there is like..brick hell." She chuckled.
"Yeah, I live really close to the city." She said after someone honked their horn at someone else and flipped them the bird. The sidewalks were mostly empty since it was a Sunday. She walked to the back of the florist to the stairs leading to her apartment and unlocked the door. The living room was comfortable, greens and yellows and browns. Aine always said it looked like a grandma room. Her dad wasn't home. She walked to her room and opened the door. There was nothing on the white carpet, and the bookshelf lining the wall was organized. There was no trash on her desk. "welcome to my, much cleaner, lair."
"Haven't even read some of them." She smiled, walking up behind him, wrapping her arms around his torso. She mumbled into his back. "Some of them I got for free, because of my job. I read mostly before I go to sleep."She turned to her closet, remembering that's what she was here to do. To change.
She opened the doors, her face dusting a light shade of pink. "I mean, if you...okay. Well. Yeah. Or I could just." She scolded herself for speaking so quickly. "I can change behind the door.."
((Sorry, just got back from eating dinner!))She changed into her white shorts and blue sweater quickly, the knowledge that he was that close to her while she was changing made her face turned red. She stepped out from behind the door and pulled open her desk drawer to grab a hairbrush, getting rid of all the knots. She brushed her teeth and came back into her room, sitting beside him on the bed. Her face was still a bit pink.
She messed with his fingers for a moment, smiling. "Thank you." Her skin still tingled where he kissed her cheek, and she hoped she'd never get used to the feeling. Actually, she knew she never would. "Where..where do you want to go?" She asked.
She couldn't come up with anything, so she pulled his head down and kissed him on the lips. She wasn't soft but she wasn't aggressive. She smiled against his mouth.
A wave of warmth washed over her body and she pulled away, her lips still only about an inch away from his. Her eyes were half-open and she smiled a bit. "You're so cute." She purred.
Her face flushed scarlet and she smiled shyly at him, embarrassed. "Thank you.." She said quietly, unsure of how to accept the compliment. She pressed her lips against his again, more hesitantly this time.
"Oh, sorry." She chuckled, feeling ashamed and awkward for forgetting the sole purpose of coming to her house. Not to do..whatever this was, but for her to change. She stood and stretched, slipping a pair of shoes on that were beside the door. "Where do you want to go?" She said, blushing.
"We could go to the park? And walk..maybe?" She hoped he didn't think it was a stupid request as she sat back down beside him, intertwining his fingers in hers. "They just added a pond to it."
"Not far. We could walk there, actually. We just have to turn left.." She led him back outside, locking the door behind her. Fall was starting and leaves were blowing on the ground. She grinned, as it was her favorite season. "I mean, if you don't want to walk.." She trailed off.
She grazed her thumb over his knuckles, her hair blowing into her face a bit. "I like you." She said, although he definitely already knew that.
She smiled up at him fondly, listening to the birds talking and singing to each other in the trees. Leaves slid past her feet and dogs barked to the distance."Yeah.." She said quietly. "It's kind of hard to wrap my head around it..being around the same person for so long. You..you have to really love them."
She had the urge to kiss him, but decided against it. He probably wouldn't appreciate it. She squeezed his hand.
"It's probably nice. Knowing someone will love you for so long, because they've been there for you. For so many years."
"I'm not sure. It's fun to read about, when it's not overkill. But.." She leaned her head back, watching a bird soar below the clouds. "I've heard about some chemical reaction. Not sure how it's triggered, though.."
"I like Autumn. I'm glad it's close." She said, beginning to walk again. Her hair fluttered in the breeze as she watched the birds flying and the kids playing. Being here with Logan, she felt content.
She frowned, jogging over to him with an urgent look on her face. She kneeled beside him, wiping away his tears with her index finger gently. "Hey, it's gonna be okay." She said quietly. The boy looked up at her, still crying. "it's gonna be alright...hey.."
"Ma'am.." Poinsette said, narrowing her eyes in defense. "Your son fell while he was playing football. He was crying, really, really hard, too. So we came to help him. Look at his knee." She leaned to the side so she could see his leg properly. Nothing bothered her more than a parent not caring for their kids properly. "This is serious. It's not like he just skinned it or anything."She was shocked by the seriousness her voice was taking on. She felt like a mother.
She stood up again, frowning. "I know, but I feel like she was right, kind of. I did feel like a mom. Although she didn't have to say it like that. Like I was doing something wrong." Her face flushed. "I don't know. I like kids. Sorry, this is a little weird."She hoped Logan didn't think she was being strange, although she knew she was. Remembering what the lady had said, she rolled her eyes, worrying about the kid's wound. She hoped the mother would actually care for him.
What a happy little family.
"I won't ever be that kind of mother. I mean..if I ever.." She shook her head at the mom, watching as the car drove away and the tires screeched on the pavement. "she...she acted like she didn't care at all."She brushed the grass from her legs, stretching. "Do you think you wanna have kids?" She asked, like it was no big deal. She felt like it was a strange question. "Sorry."
((Bye, i have to go to bed. c'ya!!))
She nodded, running a hand through her hair. "I..I couldn't do it. I couldn't trust someone like that. If you get pregnant, and they abandon you..that..that would really suck." She watched a group of girls throwing a baseball around across the field. "It's better not to take chances. At least for me."
"Yeah..guess your right." Somehow she felt like she'd just bonded with him. Like something had been clarified, although she didn't know what. "I like kids, though. Not sure I could raise them very well." She pulled him down gently by the collar of his shirt and pecked his lips, knowing he probably wouldn't want to do more than that considering they were in public.
She smiled against his lips, ignoring the cackling and whistling of the teenage boys a few feet away. Pulling away, she grinned, her face a light shade of pink. "I thought you'd be mad."
((im sick, so i probably wont be online a lot today >.<))Poinsette smiled up at him, running a hand through her hair. it was something she did when she was nervous or flattered, and right now, maybe, she was both.
"do you..do you wanna get walking?" she was anxious to get away from the eyes of the two boys. they made her uncomfortable, and she was a bit afraid they'd try to come talk to her.
"You okay?" She asked, leading him over to a park bench and sitting down. She put his hand on top of her knee and rubbing the back of it with the palm of hers. "You seem kind of..distant?"
((omg, omg omg!! i'm so sorry my internet messed up because my parents forgot to pay the bills and we couldnt get it back for a long time! the only time i got to use it was when i did it really quick on the school computers! agh, i'm sorry!))"Gross." She sighed, tilting her head back and leaning it against his shoulder. He felt so warm. So stable. She closed her eyes.
"Oh, man." She said. "I like you a lot."
"Oh, sorry." She pulled back, feeling a bit uneasy. "Was I being too forward? Was that to much?"(Thank you! Again, I'm really sorry!))
"Oh," She said, her face flushed, quickly turning a dark shade of red. "Me, too. Yeah..yeah. Me, too." Her hair twitched in the breeze, and she bit her lip.
She grinned, her face still red. Her heart was pounding in her chest. "I..thanks. So are you. Logan."
((Sorry, I'm grounded too >.< For being up too late.))Poinsette looked at her shoes and back up to the girls' faces. They were wobbling on the cobblestone sidewalk, and by the look on their face, they were walking someone with real determination. "What's with..what's with them?"
She grabbed his hand again, leaning over to peck the area below his lips softly. Her lips lingered there for a few seconds before she pulled away.
She smiled up at him, her gaze settling on his eyes. She liked it when they were silent like this, just enjoying each other's company. She pecked the tip of his fingers with her lips.
((it's okay!!! c: Sorry I'm gonna be a lot busier because I transferred to this really hard school so ugh))"Yeah, it's nice." She said, feeling giddy from the words they'd just exchanged. She stretched, crossing her legs. "What electives are you taking?"
"Creative writing and French." She nuzzled her head into his neck and smiled sheepishly, running her thumb over his knuckles.
She stood up, pulling him up with her. "Come on, there's a pathway where you can walk up here. Through the trees." She tugged at his hand.
She walked with him until she got to the path, covered in fake spiderwebs and fuzzy pipe-cleaner spiders. "Halloween.." she mumbled, pulling him in gently. Children ran by with their friends.
