A girl wakes up in a dungeon and doesn’t remember how she got there or anything other than she is in a dark place. A boy named kale breaks her out she doesn’t know why he seems to hate the sight of her. As he breaks out another kid they fight there way out and run for it. This girl and the other boy hit it off and the sword fighter kale seems to be angrier with this girl and she doesn’t know why. They make it to a city and the sword fighter kale goes his separate way. She is enrolled in a school and is realizing there is more to her past but she still can’t remember. After being chased by dogs kale shows up again and saves her from them she can’t stand him cause he is always so ornery to her and she doesn’t know why. Her dad come to take her away and she finds out she is the chiefs daughter and that this tribe of people don’t like the heads of the council of the princess. When she goes home some are happy to see her and some aren’t. They have a fight tournament for her hand in marriage and her cousin turns out to be involved in her kidnapping and try’s to kill her kale saves her and ends up being the one who wins her hand in marriage. She is upset but doesn’t know why he still doesn’t like her. They end up on the run again and kale take s her to his people she gets thrown in a cell and ends up escaping to get to kale she thinks he is in danger it ends up being a test because he has to win his people’s approval to marry her and is bound to marry her because of defeating the champion of her tribe. She does and he starts to open up to her and she is angry because he hasn’t really showed interest in her before and now is being kind. Turns out while she was being tortured in the dungeon he was made to watch and they transferred each other’s blood and his people if that happens they are bound to that person forever but the raven didn’t know that he was of that certain clan. When the raven realizes this he needs her even more because she is what they need to gain full power or something. Her and kale work together to take down the raven. And the other kid is trying to win her over kale but in the end she and kale are connected to each other and come to find out she is the heir to a kingdom that is hated where she is and she finds out how to save everyone by going to her ancestors and taking her place as ther queen and fighting what she thought was her country.
