Was it part of a series? Sounds similar to Goosebumps or a knockoff series.
It was a single book as far as I remember. it didnt have any crazy graphics on the cover, and it wasnt considered horror or "thriller". One of those whimsical children's novels of the late 20th century.
I know you said it was a single book, but it sounds kinda like the Monsters series by Dian Curtis Regan. Monster of the Month Club is the first title. They are stuffed animals that come to life.
I've been looking into the books you suggested, and I think it might just the the one! The covers are so different than I remember. By the sypnosis, it sound so close to the book I'm thinking of! Thank you so much! I've spent years trying to find this book! this the closes I've ever gotten!

I read this book in the very early 2000's, I remember the cover has the main character ( a girl) with the "stuffed toys" beside her. The style was pretty realistic, hand drawn, with no stylistic or cartoon-ish edges. I believe one was pink, and one was green (I wanna say they were cute, hedgehog looking things, but I could be mistaken. I'm pretty sure they had fur though). At first, the girl thinks they're only toys, but when bad things start happening around the house, and she's always find she realizes they're real. They cause trouble in the house and of course she gets blamed for it (now that I think about it, this is a very 90's plot). I remember they appeared out of no where, and when she discovers that these toys are alive, ANOTHER one appears, and she can't imagine how she's going to handle another one in the house. I also remember the creatures had an argument? they wouldn't acknowledge each other, and the girl had to play the middle man. I think the girl did something, or wished for something that caused these creatures to appear.
I will take ANY suggestions! I've been looking for years, and any thoughts are well appreciated.
