Can't edit series
Okay I need help with another book. I would be really grateful if someone could fix it. Can someone combine this book :

It's the same book but one version has the ISBN number and the other version has more information and a picture etc..

It's number 1 till 5 from the W.I.T.C.H. series.

#302 can someone look at this, the primary author looks the same but I can't combine them.Can this be because one of them is the only book on that authors page? (So merge authors first?)
I've also been looking at the different W.I.T.C.H. series, there are different series for some languages because they grouped the books differently. So not sure what to do with the Dutch series, a new series? There is no series with 1-5, 6-10, etc.

They are not the same. On is author https://www.goodreads.com/author/show..., and one is https://www.goodreads.com/author/show.... Note the different author ID's.

I've recently added some Dutch series to the original series because the storyline is exactly the same. So I think they should be in the series. It's the same comic as in the seperate #1-5 in english, just combined. I actually own the #1-5 book, but I'm not a librarian (yet)
And I think that you're right that those series should be combined! The thing is that the WITCH magazines are sold in a lot of different countries. The story is exactly the same, but the covers often differ.

1) I need to edit my lists of characters, to make the books more accessible to new readers, but every time I try to do so, I am redirected to the main page, presumably because only Librarians can edit those details. The first book came out last month and latter book comes out on August 31, and, naturally, NO Librarian has access to this kind of information. 2) Also, the second book's cover was changed a while back, but I cannot upload the new cover because of my Librarian privileges been revoked at the worst possible time. Given the book has not been published yet, this is not about adding a new edition, but actually correcting the original version's data.

I also suggest that if your books need multiple edits, you are better off starting a new thread for them.

I had seen that, but the spelling of the name is the same that is why I was confused. But I merged them now.

I actually own the #1-5, 6-10, 11-15 and 16-20 books :)
The different covers is not a problem, but all the different combinations can make it hard. But I first had to get the two authors merged to continue this.

I need to add The Cults of the Wormto The Bones of the Earth series as Book 3.
Also, for the future, if I wanted to change a books number in the series (The Blood of Before) from .01 to 2.5, would that be an issue at all? (I also noticed that The Blood of Before doesn't seem to always get counted as being part of The Bones of the Earth series by Goodreads).

Added.You've stated in the blurb for The Blood of Before that the stories happen before The Bones of the Earth, so why would you change the numbering to after that book?
GR adds all books to a series and they are readily seen on the series page, however, if its a fraction and not a whole book number it isn't considered a primary work.
Just an idea I've been throwing around as it does take place before the series; however, technically, it's best read after the second novel. Probably overthinking it :)

Retitled the series (and added the old series title to the series description): https://www.goodreads.com/series/1663... and added two missing books to the series.
Moved Ronan to your profile, as well as Wolf Surrender.
Added some details to the new editions, and reverted a title change for one of the older editions.

The isbn13 was put in the isbn10 field, and missing the last three digits.

#339 done, I'm also reverting some against policy changes you did on your books. ASIN's and ISBN's stay with the first book that was added on Goodreads, if a new book/edition with the same ASIN/ISBN is added we add a note on the book to make clear it is an alternate cover.If you find that a book with a specific ISBN is already listed with a different cover, it is likely the ISBN was reused for a later/earlier reprinting. If that is the case, you can manually add a new edition to the database that would be considered an 'alternate cover edition.' This policy is in place because it is not possible to upload multiple covers of a book, and changing the cover of an existing edition is a violation of Goodreads policy. Some people may have added the existing edition with that specific cover because it is the one they own.

Hi, I just have a question. If I create a book series for some new books, can I later change the series name on that Goodreads series page if I need to down the road? Like if a publisher picks it up and decides it needs a different name, does Goodreads policy let the series name change?
Yes, it can be changed later on. Series names are much more fluid than book names or author names.

As was pointed out above, the editions published under the old series name would keep their series name, just as they would keep an older title.
So series names are essentially as fluid as book titles: old editions keep the old ones, and new ones have the new ones.
