My first book of fiction came out late last year, October of 2018 and was featured in an interview with The Rumpus. A month ago it was selected as a finalist in the Next Generation Indie Book Award, which totally surprised me. The book has five short stories about the mean streets of Portland, Oregon and how difficult survival can be for those on the edge. I hope you'll look for a copy. It is available where all books are sold and is in libraries as well. What are some of your thoughts about book awards and contests? I was told by a friend to get involved in them and I was dubious to say the least, so when I was chosen as a finalist for a national award, I was surprised. I still don't know what to think about it....
